According to a Weibo user, the first batch of Huawei desktop computers will be launched soon. Also, he proves the will come with a 24-core Kunpeng platform. At the same time, the graphics card will be AMD’s Radeon 520.

As we have reported previously, the Huawei desktop has an internal code of Pangu. Initially, there will be only one model that will use a self-developed 24-core Kunpeng platform. Also, the manufacturer will put an 8GB notebook memory, a 512GB Samsung SSD, and AMD’s Radeon 520 graphics card. In addition, this processor’s multi-core performance is slightly better than that of the Intel i9-9900K. However, the single-core performance is not mentioned.

The Huawei desktop is exclusively for government and enterprise customers. It runs on a domestic UOS system and cannot install Windows. In terms of expansion, this desktop does not support other types of graphics cards, and the CPU board cannot be removed.

Huawei has also equipped this desktop with a 23.8-inch display. The latter has a 70% NTSC color gamut and a resolution of 1920*1080.

Earlier, a Twitter tipster revealed almost everything concerning the Huawei Desktop. It adopts a simple and commercial design. There are three USB-A and one USB-C ports and a headset port on the front. It can also come with an optical drive. The rear I/O panel has four USB-A interfaces, a network cable interface, and a VGA interface.

Kunpeng Platform

In fact, as early as September last year at the Full Connect Conference, Huawei launched the Kunpeng 920 desktop motherboard. It is compatible with a mainstream memory, hard drives, network cards, and other hardware devices. And the company has launched corresponding desktop products, but initially only for corporate customers.

That time, we reported that the PC component supports quad-core or eight-core ARM processors and 64GB DDR4-2400 RAM. Plus it has SATA 3.0 ports, PCIe 3.0 slots, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 ports a Gigabit Ethernet, etc. Therefore, it wouldn’t be too difficult for Huawei to build a Win10 on the ARM machine based on the Kirin or Kunpeng platform.

According to reports, Huawei will launch a desktop computer for 7500 yuan ($1061) on the ‘mysterious platform’. The CPU model is the Huawei Kunpeng 920 2249K, which is directly soldered to the motherboard. And it has a 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD. The motherboard has four memory slots, supports 64GB of DDR4 memory, and also comes with PCIe 4.0 graphics card slot. By the way, the graphics card is Yeston RX 550 and the system is UOS.
