What To Expect in 2011

The Android tablet market is finally kicking off in the eyes of most consumers, but the Android Tablet war really started as long as 6 month ago in the factories of Shenzhen, China.
Even before Apple’s iPad was released there were Chinese made tablets running Windows and looking very much like huge iPhone 3G’s, but as time has moved on and the open source Android OS has matured all but a few Chinese manufactures have moved away from Windows and adopted the Google OS.

That was last year however and now that the Chinese Spring Festival celebrations have come to an end and the year of the rabbit begins so does a new battle for tablet market share.
Last year the Chinese factories had now one to compete against in the budget/low end tablet market, but now with big names entering the foray these Shenzhen factories will need to become more innovative, will need to improve their quality and produce more competitively priced tablets to keep in with a chance.
All of this is great news for us as we are going to get to see a huge number of greatly designed tablets with serious hardware entering the market.

Gizchina News of the week

We’ve already seen a few examples of Chinese tablets treading in the iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and soon Motorola Xoom arena.
The GS30 tablet is one example of a tablet with great hardware and possible iPad beating capabilities, thanks to it’s LG made ISP capacitive touch-screen, 1Ghz CPU, 512mb RAM and dual cameras (front is a 2 mega-pixel unit while the rear is a 5 mega-pixel).

The Synergic Dreambook is another great example of a Chinese factory producing a very well marketed and excellently designed tablet, one in fact that is far better than the much costlier Samsung Galaxy Tab.
But this is only the tip of the ice-berg! With hundreds of factories all over China specially equipped with the tools for making tablets, and plummeting prices of high end components such as faster more efficient CPU’s and more accurate capacitive touch-screens, 2011 is really shaping up to be an exciting year for Android tablets!
