Zopo ZP810 Specifications and pricing

The quad-core Zopo ZP810 is not officially listed for sale on the Zopomobileshop, keep reading for full specifications and pricing.

Chinese phone maker Zopo have finally caught up with the pack, and are now producing a 5-inch, quad-core Android smartphone. As with all Zopo phones, the better than average quality and helpful aftermarket service and support comes at a price though.

Unlike UMi and iOcean who are using a 5-inch 1080 display for their next generation phones, the Zopo Zp810 uses a 5-inch 720HD panel with a resolution of just 1280 x 720. Some will argue that this is enough for the majority of users and that the lower resolution could increase battery life, but we still feel a little disappointed by the choice.

Gizchina News of the week

Under the skin the ZP810 follows a similar formula as many similar MTK phones including 1GB RAM, 4GB of memory, a PowerVR SGX GPU, WCDMA and GSM support and dual-sim stand-by. However this is usually what we see from phones running a dual-core MTK chip, not a quad-core MT6589, and again we are left hoping for double the RAM, and memory!

A similar story can be found in the camera department where the rear sensor is still listed at 8 mega-pixels and the front a 2 mega-pixel unit. Phones from JiaYu, UMi and iOcean all sport at least a 13 mega-pixel camera.

The price isn’t particularly cheap either as the Zopo ZP810 is listed at $259.99, roughly $100 more than similar quad-core phones.

However, as mentioned above, Zopo are known for their support, after sales service and quality, but is this really worth the extra?

For more details or to buy the ZP810 head over the the Zopomobileshop site here.

All price announcements are for retail prices in China, after accounting for shipping & handling, it’s still $100 more than others like Jiayu G4 (1 GB version), Sheng X7…etc.

Exactly, no-one is selling a quad for under $200. Most are prices at $250 at the moment.

After shipping you can buy from the official Zopo store for the same price as the G4 from a third party.

at least for this price you should have 8gb of rom, come on zopo!

again ”Dual SIM card dual standby” isn’t supposed to be dual active?? I’m getting confused really

I see it being 720p as an advantage, the GPU isn’t particulary powerfull and at 1080p it’ll surely struggle to move any demanding game.

BUT, 2GB of RAM would have been great, and that ROM… 4GB?

Yeah, ZOPO has grat quality and service, but the average buyer doesn’t have to know that. You can do better, ZOPO!

Being first is normally to have big prices. After much more smartphones on the market they can go down to a reasonable price like $180.
But as already Fred said, ”Dual SIM card dual STANDBY” isn’t supposed to be dual ACTIVE.

This is a very important feature, users are expecting it, Mediatek implemented it, but all stupid manufacturers are writing the same thing STANDBY.
This STANDBY is a copy-paste thing?
This STANDBY is a term for something they don’t understand what really is?
They know the difference between STANDBY and ACTIVE?
WHY to remove an ACTIVE great option from a chipset which helps selling the product and make it just STANDBY as many buyers hate?

Hey GizChina, we need a well documented article only about STANDBY vs, ACTIVE for the MT6589 smartphones?
    OK?

PS: sorry for caps but I want to be sure people will understand the differences.

You say Zopo have excellend aftermarket sales and service, well i can tell you that is utter rubbish in fact i have never been more dissatisfied by a company in all my life!

I bought the ZP810 great worked fine however have you tried contacting anyone there to by spares…

My GSM/3G antenna became damaged as it was dropped without the back on which ripped the PCB membrane…. No-one answers emails, no one speaks english on the phone and all i can seem to get through third party sites is screens and batteries…. the part is not difficult to ship, it would cost next to nothing to supply and i have even stated on all my correspondence that i i am very happy to pay for it, but again not even the curtosy to email back from any of the people mentioned on thier own website…
