If you think 6.5-inch and 1080 resolution is just to much and you prefer to save yourself some money there is also the Green Lemon G16 which measures in at 6-inch with a 1280 x 720 display and the same powerful quad-core chipset for 1999 Yuan ($320).

All of these companies pumping out the same re-branded phone, but not a single one sells the 2gb version yet.

Well, these, like unfortunately pretty much all other Chinese smart-phones so far, are fairly useless in North America (US, CA, MX), as long as those manufacturers are employing these rather primitive dual or even worse, single-only band UMTS aka W-CDMA radios.
Unless they add support for UMTS 850, UMTS 1700/2100, UMTS 1900 to the very least and possibly UMTS700 as well, they are almost useless in this part of the globe.
And I am not even starting to talk about the non-existing LTE support here yet.
I only can hope, that the upcoming next generation of, mostly Mediatek, chips, drastically enhances the number of incorporated 3G radio bands, so that these phones finally become usable globally.
And then the whole game starts all over with LTE again in the near future.
The i6000 has WCDMA 850/1900/2100… 850 and 1900 is perfect for USA which is why I’m getting this phone. At least, for AT&T it is, and that’s what I use when i go to the states.
And for while I’m here in Europe, 2100 does the trick.
I follow gizchina.com with great appriciation but there is one thing I don’t understand – it sometimes feel like the writers don’t remember anything from one article to the other?
This is obviously yet another iNew i6000 / Firefly v65 / Orientphone… right?
I agree with Roberto and I have a first hand experience of knowing that the 2Gb version isn’t available – I ordered via PayPal a iNew i6000 advance (2Gb/32Gb) from http://www.inewmobile.com a couple of weeks before. After a weeks wait I got a message saying that they are uppdating to the latest firmware. A couple of days later I emailed asking them on how it’s going (I knew that the firmware thing probably just was a way for them to buy time) and the day after I got a message from PayPal that my money had been returned.
I’d like to see an article on trustworthy sites where you can buy / pre-order phones etc. Is there any such article on gizchina?
