Nubia Z11 render shows of a curved glass display, could sport Snapdragon 820

nubia z11

While it is Xiaomiโ€™s Mi5 and the upcoming release from Vivo that is grabbing the attention of the media, itโ€™s the latest Nubia Z11 which has caught our eyes.

ZTEโ€™s Nubia brand has been making flagship phones for a couple of years now. Sometimes they hit the nail on the head (see the Z7 range) and other times they miss their target (see the Z9 range), for the Z11 they might be on the mark once again.

Nubia Z11 Curved Display

Taking inspiration from the curved display of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the Nubia Z11 might too have an edge to edge 5.2 inch display spanning its body. The render which was posted this morning appears to show less of a curve than the Samsung screen, and might even have a near 90 degree bend in it.

At this time we donโ€™t know if the edge will be an area for notifications, more touch control options or is simple a reflective piece of material to give the appearance of an edge to edge panel.

A second render shows the rear of the Nubia Z11 with rear fingerprint scanner, single LED flash and large rear camera lens.

Rumoured specification details for the phone were also posted stating that the Z11 would be equipped with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, up to 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel front camera and 20.7 mega-pixel rear. Android 6.0 will come on the phone by default with Nubiaโ€™s own ROM.

What do you think of the latest Nubia Z11? Could this be a contender for the next gen flagship battle?

Have all the Chinese companies hired the same phone designer? :p

Well there’s not that much you can do with every phone is just a big piece of screen. Back in the day you had sliders, flip phones, different keyboards and a lot possibilities.

Of course, this was a dig at how similar this phone looks to the Redmi Note 3. ๐Ÿ™‚

At least now we can hope with the inclusion of BBERRY, that more manufacturers can copy at least that approach and also saw Samsung in flip a phone stile. We are in for great changes. But time us needed.

The Z9 was simply much too expensive. It also didn’t help that they got rid of the microSD-slot.
If the Z11 hits the same pricerange as the Z7 than ppl will buy it

I’ve always loved the design of Nubia phones (this one I need to see in person), they always had good cameras and good built quality. But the software has always been a train wreck.

ZTE sub brand “Nubia” Z9 series are decent for their camera because IMX234 same as LG G4 provide good pictures and their camera doesn’t lag when I handed on Z9 mini at Mobile Expo

Z9 are too heavy , very heavy for its 5.2 inch size around 194 grams
Z9 Max apart from Snapdragon 615, the size is too large for me
Z9 mini Snapdragon 615 quite turn me off although amazed by how good picture and fast shutter it is along with some features that you can find from LG and Samsung like double tap to light , palm on screen to lock , multi windows. The size, bezel and handling is ok to me, at least the corner doesn’t bite my finger like Lenovo Vibe Shot. So I would like to wait for next gen so I would get 32GB rom minimum maybe get finger print scanner too, oh and don’t leave out OIS for me.

Z7 series also feel missing something like Z9 too

    So I hope Z11 don’t fail me

Very happy Nubia user here (Z7 with OIS and 3GB Ram).

    – Superb build, premium looks, yet sturdy and doesn’t need exquisite handling

    – One of the absolute best custom Roms I’ve used – a joy to work with

    – Regular updates! This is one firm that releases quite frequently

    – OUTSTANDING camera app and performance. I gasped when I saw the tutorial videos displaying live lighting adjustments, slow shutter mode and the crazy PRO mode that functions like a DSLR.

    – The OIS is top notch.

    – Killer feates all around – split screen multitasking, wake and other gestures, tons and tons of convenience features that I’m discovering even today, and it gets better with each rom.

    – Very complete feature set, bragging rights style, nothing missing really ๐Ÿ™‚ SD card? Yes. NFC? Yes. IR Blaster? Yes. Dual Sim? Yes. 4G + 3G? Yes. Snapdragon? Yes. Wake Gestures? Yes. Specialized Audio? Yes (Dolby, not Atmos). Gorilla glass? Yes. The list goes on.

    The not so good:

    – Price, obviously. But I don’t mind, given that they don’t cut corners.
    – Availability: I always have to import their top editions, no local availability ๐Ÿ™
    – Official Forums: Only in chinese ๐Ÿ™ But, NEEDROM rocks ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry if I sound like a fanboy, but having used the crappy TouchWiz, the disaster called Sense, the atrocity called MIUI that makes an SD801 perform like an SD400 – I have to say Nubia UI is a breath of fresh air.

I’m never going to use another phone/rom as long as this line is alive and kicking.
Love live Nubia – for perfectionists, by perfectionists.

i swear God i have not seen anybody praising the Nubia UI before you did today.
And i have been in their forum as well back in time when i bought the Z7 mini.

Seriously, I’m not kidding, literally none before you.

i guess that after a couple of years they managed to make an usable rom.

Well, that’s your opinion which i respect, but i wouldn’t wipe my posterior with it, that’s all.

well, that wasn’t an opinion since i didn’t say what i think about the UI nor about the phone.

I was simply pointing that in my experience i have never found anybody who liked Nubia UI before you.
I knew that there should be someone out there that likes the Rom, but for some coincidence it never happened until i saw your comment.

You mentioned Touchwiz and i only heard bad opinions about that rom, but i actually met few people that liked it, but Nubia… that was my first time.

Well, I’m glad you like it, no stress about flash custom roms.
I’ve seen people flashing Mokee with a trojan in it rather than keep the Nubia UI.

I think the name of ZTE’s rom is MiFavor
