No.1 X5 is China’s first rugged LTE tablet

no1 x5 rugged tablet

Following on from their popular range of rugged smartphones, No.1 have taken their rugged know how and used it to make a 7-inch rugged tablet.

As far as we know, rugged Android tablets are few and far between, and are generally marketed at the professional looking to keep connected while in extreme conditions. The No.1 X5 aims to bring those same rugged features, and connectivity to a larger audience.

Off the bat there are features on the tablet that make this device perfect for outdoor use. The X5 uses a 1.3Ghz quad-core MT8732VC chipset offering LTE support for bands 1/3/7 (WCDMA support include 1/2/3/8). In addition to LTE there is GPS support too, perfect for using maps while in the wilds.

The rubber finished body measures a huge 18.9mm giving the tablet plenty of room for NFC, a Class K loud-speaker, 3 axis gyro, micro SD support, and a massive 10,000mAh battery.

The tablet also obviously runs Android, but from the official No.1 Specifications there is no mention of which version of the OS is used.

I think they might have mixed up the ram and the rom a wee bit there. Otherwise this just might be the fastest useless tablet on the market.

Great move. Would have liked a better front camera, screen-res and SoC. The MT8732 is fairly old (late 2014 release) now.

Would you really be in market for a tablet?

If the tablet had the features of a flagship mobile phone and better screen and battery I would consider it heavily. I could accommodate a tablet with headphones and mic for phoning.

The problem is most tablets are so under designed even though they have so much space.

Better battery longetivity and lots of privacy controls that were in previous versions unavailable + many more tweaks. ….simply put the best version to date.

Bought No1 7″ Phablet before, it was still using Mediatek 6589T.
The button and design, they copied ipad.

Only can last for around 2 months, after that the unit refused to charge anymore.
I changed the charger also cannot charge, so it was confirmed the internal charging hardware part got problem.

I don’t even got chance to use it properly, just playing around installing Appz, doing some benchmark ,etc and the damn thing just died on me.

No more No1 brand for me, more like “No 1 to avoid at all cost”
Money is hard to earn now so i can only afford to buy smartphone/tablet that more robust and durable now that can last at least for 2 years.

I bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 for my brother, it is still going strong for a couple months already. He is very happy to show off to all his friend. Most of his friends are using those expensive premium smartphone like samsung and iphone. And the best part, when he told them that i only spend US$128 (buying from aliexpress, eternal team and already included shipping fee) ,he did mention to me that all his friends were all cursing to spend so much money buying their “premium” smartphone LOL. You will not believe that most of them never heard Xiaomi brand before.

Now i am waiting for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro as it is cheap and good hardware specs . But looks like i need to wait a couple months until those china online reseller decided to reduce their price to a more reasonable one.

But again, maybe No 1 already fix their product problem, anybody can advise ?
