Earlier in the month we posted details of the Blackview A5, with comments that it seemed a little odd to choose the phone over the A8. Well new pricing details have emerged which might tempt a few bargain hunters.
We have seen Android smartphone pricing drop, quite drastically, since the start of the year, but this is the first model that we no of that is going to cost only $29.99 during its initial launch phase.
The Blackview A5 uses a lot of the same hardware that similar $50 phones offer including a 3G limited quad-core Mediatek MT6580 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, 2000mAh battery, 5 mega-pixel rear camera, dual SIM support and Android 6.0.

Blackview haven’t told us when the Blackview A5 will go on sale, only that the initial launch will see the phone priced at only $29.99 to start with, then $39.99 before rising to the full retail price of $44.99.
So with this new pricing info is is now better to by the Blackview A5 over the A8? Personally I would say no. The A8 has a higher resolution 5-inch HD display, metal chassis and decent 8 mega-pixel sensor all for just $49.99. It’s a lot of nice kit for only a slightly higher price.
For anyone who buys it for $30, it will be perfect for a 2nd phone or maybe for children. Just bring me the Presale now! =P
I have bought a Blackview BV2000s for $40 about 2 months ago and I’m happy with it! I use it as a 2nd phone (when I don’t want to damage my good phone at a hard work or I won’t “cry” if someone steals it at the dancing club), but I would love something smaller than 5″, like the A5… =)
Too right, for a 2nd phone that sounds pretty spot on especially at that price!
I would rather choose the umi rome X
Different phones… The UMi costs $65-70, it’s 5,5 inches and has fake battery capacity… Plus, I hate UMi… =P =D

Again take this $29.99 pricing with a grain of salt, normally the stocks will magically go to those china online resellers, and their price will no longer cheap LOL
Good phone for your elders or young children. Enough for social media and web-video browsing.
I think these news made as happy for nothing… These $30 and $45 prices are just another SCAM offers from some Scam stores of Aliexpress and some others like the T.T. (of course I can’t tell the site’s full name, but you will find it)…
