Along the lines of the company policy UMI plans to release the cheaper version of their Touch model marked with the “X” addition. So let’s see what the UMI Touch X is going to offer and more importantly for what kind of a price.
Rumors about the UMI Touch X have been circulating for quite some time already, but nobody knew exactly any details. With today’s news we finally know more, in fact almost everything about the specs and the price tag. UMI claims that they dont want to be cutting corners with UMI Touch X design so we should be getting also the same 8.5mm thin full metal body with alluminium alloy used and 4000 mAh battery as in the original Touch model.

The Touch X retains also the 5.5-inch display with FullHD resolution (1920×1080 pixels) with 2.5D arc and Gorilla Glass 3 protection so where are the changes ? The main change is different processor in form of quad-core MT6735A clocked at 1.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage ,8 Mpix rear Sony IMX219 camera interpolated to 13 Mpix and 2 Mpix back came interpolated to 5 Mpix. Phone is dual-SIM with 4G support (bands 3/7/20) and comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
UMI Touch X should be available for presale starting tomorrow April 21st with 119.99$ price tag attached to it. There will be two color variants to choose from – grey and gold. After the presale period the price will probably rise a bit to 129.99$
129 usd is too much. Needs to be below 89.99 usd, otherwise it won’t sell.

but all other 90$ looks pretty dumb. at least i dont find any share the same look as this X in the same segment. in my opinion UMi is playing the quality & design cards.

Weren’t those rumours that the Touch X was really a dual camera UMI Super? Is that still a rumour or has it been knocked on the head…
There was a little of confusion lately I guess… The “X” is always a depowered version of another phone in umi line, like rome-rome x, so that umi super is totally another phone! Not sure if the latter will ever come out though
Ah thanks… new to UMI but impressed with their attitude to roms/root, and hoped it may be the answer to my quest for a dual camera (refocusing) setup.
