huawei honor 8

Huawei, Honor’s parent company, announced at an event in Paris today that the current top-of-the-line Honor phone — the Honor 8 — was on its way to Europe.

The Honor 8 is made available to buyers in the UK starting today, i.e., 24th August. You’ll be able to shell out £369.99 ($487) at Huawei’s vMall outlet to procure the phone. Availability will soon follow on Clove, Ebuyer, Expansys and Amazon, with a free Fire TV stick from Amazon till stocks last.

Android Central report that the Honor 8 will also be made available via Three at a later date.

Gizchina News of the week

The Honor 8 comes with a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC, 4GB RAM, 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p display, dual 12 mega-pixel cameras on the rear, 3000mAh battery, and 8 mega-pixel front facing camera. The Honor 8 is the very close cousin of the Huawei P9 in more ways than one.

At £369.99, the Honor phone may not be the most affordable one from the brand, especially with competition from other Chinese players, namely OnePlus making it look even more expensive.

Still a good value buy with an actual warranty you can use.

Have been waiting a while for this phone to be release in UK/EU. Waited in vain it would seem as that price is plain stupid. I’m pretty sure I can get the P9 in that price range (in fact about 30$ lower). The reason I didn’t get that already was budget. For me they’ve over priced this……I’ll take advantage of the mi5 lowering price or hold out and see if the cool1 is any good instead…….annoying!

Actually, Britain is NOT part of Europe anymore ?
Puns aside, thanks to beloved brexit the price into the EU *may* be a little lower, like 399€ at most (although, in the case, I wouldn’t like honor’s attitude to raise prices 50€ per year… Still, I would understand why).

Non-sense is thinking a country that doesn’t use european currency, doesn’t follow european economical policies, and whose intel services work with NSA to spy on european leaders is european.

Article 50 hasn’t been triggered. UK remains part of the EU, and regardless of referendum results, they can’t leave a continent. As of now there has been no change to custom or tariffs for any goods coming to UK as a result of the referendum result. The only meaningful impact so far has been currency fluctuations.

You can get the P9 cheaper. The point and shoot and video on this camera are weak. The battery life is atrocious.

It seems a bit expensive and doesn’t bring anything new
