Elephone supersize with the dual camera Elephone Max

elephone max

The jury is still out on if bigger is better, but bigger is usually more popular hence Elephant’s decision to build a larger phone.

At 6-inches, the Elephone Max will be the companies largest smartphone produced to date and follows the trend of larger displays which we’ve seen even Apple follow with larger iPhone models.

The 6-inch Elephone Max promises to offer a decent screen to body ratio, i.e a narrow border design (perhaps similar to new phones from Xiaomi and Huawei) and will boasts dual rear cameras which are rumoured to record video at up to 4K.

Gizchina News of the week

An ultra-slim metal body will contain the rest of the hardware, RAM and processor which will run an Android 7.0 operating system.

The final details we know so far are that the Elephone Max won’t be too expensive as the company says they plan to make it as cost effective as possible with an attractive price.

News of the Elephone Max joins news of the Elephone H1, Elephone ELE Box 2 and a couple more new Elephone handsets due to launch in the coming months.

Andi please check out Techmagnet’s for the S7 review. It
will blow your mind, you guys have pushed this phone for so long
because you are clearly being paid for these ‘news’ articles. His review

away from this phone. I am hoping our message has got through to some
people because you guys are sad and shameless..This was just the proof I

I have used many different phones in the past 2 years. Only 3 of them where Elephones. I must say that each one of them actually performed quite good hence they each had their flaws too.

In my opinion Elephone can be a great company, they just have to focus on making phones for other company’s who do know how to optimize the software and who master the art of good Quality Control and customer service.

I’m currently waiting till the Holidays are over to get a few new phones. One of those phones might be an Elephone. Xiaomi Mi mix or Mi Note 2 are also on that list.

Yes any phone can perform well for a few days, but the real challenge is to keep up after a month or 6 months or a year etc…

I have tried so many Chinese brands and funny enough I tried P5000 with that huge monster battery and it was amazing “for 2 weeks” then camera and fingerprint stopped working. Then I got a weird red color on my screen then boom the touch no longer works XD

On the other hand, I have Xiaomi Mi3 which is way older than P5000 and still is working well. Of course I have a lot of newer phones from China like Mi4c and Mi5S and Mi Note 2 Mi Max Redmi 2 and 3 and 3 pro…
ALL are working still. The only one with problem is Redmi Note 2 with weird battery draining.

My point is, don’t throw your money hoping Elecrap would change. They are awful “for now”

I don’t know why you people are so annoyed with elephone? Seems like you are also paid by the elephone rivals? I am not paid by elephone at all. But I want to tell you that I bought one phone from elephone “The Elephone P8” long before. That was one of the few larger phone of 5.7 inches at that time. Later I gave that phone to my wife and she is still using it as her primary phone and working well… I couldn’t understand your bias against elephone. I am not buying any phone on the gizchina advice. I do my own research also. But gizchina definitely gives us a chance to know about some phones which otherwise I or we don’t know… Peace

Because you are in the minority. The majority of elephones products have been terrible. I got a Ecoo E04 which was elephone under a different name. The thing was full of bugs and died after a few months. My anecdotal evidence has just nullified yours. If you did proper research, you would’ve come across the elephone forums were they blatantly ignore complaints. You would know about the phones that they promised to create only to turn into nothing. You would know about the pre orders that elephone never filled. It’s one thing to cover unknown phone brands but elephone is spammed to death.

Don’t listen to me, that’s the whole point of this comment, listen the renowned reviewer who has found tons of issues with his phone. Please buy 500000 of them, try take as many away from other people as can. Clearly the reviewer made up the issues with the phone. The scratches, the non working home button, the crap cameras, the lower than average antutu for an X20(which is on par with all the S7 review scores so far) . Plus I would like to add and I can find the news article on here where they claimed it was like 20000 higher than that. But I just hate Elephone.

Techmagnet isn’t the only person taking a huge crap on this piece of junk either. All over YouTube there are bad reviews with this device. December 2, 2016

We haven’t actually reviewed the phone yet, so we can’t really share our sentiments on the matter.

And it’s not really that we’re paid for these articles, rather we just write about news. If Elephone is making a new device, we write about it the same way we’d write about an Oukitel device or LeEco device.

As writers, we need to be objective. If something is objectively boring, we point it out. If something is objectively good, we say it. But until we actually receive a device and get to use it, we cannot give our subjective opinions on the device because it would be biased writing.

That said, we don’t advocate people to buy Elephone either. Like I’ve previously stated, we’re just writing the news. Until we actually review the device, anything we say is from an objective standpoint. Thus, feel free to have your own opinion on it.

I’d also like to add one thing, and that is that here at Gizchina, we legitimately want these smaller companies to improve. Whether it’s Elephone or Oukitel, we prefer to write about these companies and offer helpful criticism than advocate their ends. I hope you understand this.

      • lildwell
        December 2, 2016

80% of the stuff you post about elephone isn’t news though. Its foolishness. “Elephone now has an explosion proof membrane” isn’t news. “The elephone s7 comes with a silicon case” isn’t news.

        • Airyl
          December 2, 2016

Yes, yes they are. These are just simple news articles made to hype up certain devices so that companies feel pressured into making their devices better. It makes the market more competitive.

When Bluboo sees “Elephone makes bezeless phone”, this prompts them to improve their design. When Ulefone sees “Oukitel ships with silicone case”, they’ll respond accordingly.

Now, don’t try to fool us. The very same articles you write, are done on other sites too. And they both come from elephone/ulefone/bluboo/whoever newsletter. Only, other sites are polite enough to write [SPONSORED] in the title, so readers know what’s going on. You don’t, you just publish elephone including a silicon case like it’s the second coming of obama. That’s straightforward BS.

Now, this news we’re writing under, is not the same case. If someone is about to launch a new device, it’s good to let us know. But recently (really have been many months, but let’s just stick with “recently”) things have gone out of hands: out of 10 news, 9 are utter crap coming from a newsletter about silicon cases, “3 million steps cnc frames”, iphone comparisons, totally biased tests made by companies themselves and so on.

And I’d dare say: there is nothing wrong with that too! Sponsored news were a thing since the days of newspapers. All it would need is a “sponsored” in the title, that would settle waaay too many things. This crap you’re trying to push “we do it to drive chinese industry” is an insult to our intelligence.
Obviously your credibility would sink a bit once 9 out of 10 news you published has “sponsored” in the title, I can understand that.
But that’s the problem with you now. Gizchina lately has been doing nothing but paid articles. No reviews, no news published in time. Last time I’ve read a news here before reading it on other sites, it was the redmi note 2 launch. Now, everytime there’s something like that, you write something 1-3 days later, if ever. The only one making real reviews is Zi Jin now, he’s the only blogger writing here we can trust. Everyone else is doing the worst job possible, while andi and yash are desaparecidos the most of the time. Just watch the nomu s20 review by markus, basically “it’s a perfect phone made by super company”, with an essay on the company itself: that’s coming from a newsletter too.

So… If you’ll ever read without outright delete this comment…
Don’t insult our intelligence and try to be more transparent about what you’re doing… And, perhaps, work a little harder… Many of us still have some kind of faith in this site, don’t treat us like retards.

        • Airyl
          December 3, 2016

Trust me, I’m not trying to fool you. I’m not going to deny that we get news sources from Elephone, Ulefone, Bluboo and many other companies, but that’s simply because they’re reliable sources of information. We’re not sponsored by them, we just write what they send us on slow news days.

We would generally like to avoid these types of articles, but these days the Chinese smartphone market just isn’t as bustling as it used to be. Back then you could go online and 20 different companies would be duking it out for the spotlight (Like during the JiaYu G3 days), while nowadays it’s really just the next Ulefone device, or the next Elephone device, or some variation of the sort.

We have been sponsored in the past, but these aren’t our sponsored articles. All of our sponsored content is tagged as sponsored and is then sorted into our sponsored archive, which you can find here.

          https://www.gizchina.com/category/sponsored-2/

I’ve also read Markus’s review of the Nomu S20, and to be honest, I don’t really see too much wrong with it. I definitely disagree about the camera (it’s below average, IMO), but I do agree that the build is quite nice and the software is snappy. You’ll also have to understand that Markus is a new writer. If you want him to improve, it’d be better to go to his review and give him some constructive criticism.

I’m not going to delete my comment. I’m trying my best to be transparent here, I really do want to understand you and improve the site. And, I do understand where you’re coming from. Honestly, I’m also somewhat unhappy about the current state of things. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you, that was never my intention. I’ll try to put in a good word, but do tell me what else you’d like to see improved.

        • Rob
          December 3, 2016

I hardly ever bother on this site now, let alone leave comments. However, in this case I will make an exception as I commpletely agree with you. Let’s just say ‘site b’ will publish a dozen articles in one day and the only one you’ll find here is the Elephone/Umi one etc, all the real stories are completely ignored. If this site does do a reivew (happens on rare occassions) then it tends to be a Xiaomi phone (aside from the Elephone ones). Again, I find this boring as there are so many phones available that it would be nice to see reviews of some of the ‘lesser known’ brands. I would’ve loved a review of my q5 plus from one of these sites before deciding to take a chance but I know that will never happen as it’s not made by Elephone. As for this site, over the last 12 months it’s become completely laughable and is just a shadow of it’s former self.

          • lildwell
            December 3, 2016

I’d like to add to your comment. Elephone won’t be reviewed ever. The only devices that get reviewed these days are Xiaomi devices. And then its usually a redmi series phone. For example, I didn’t even know the pptv phablet existed looking at this site. On another site there is a full review though. But these guys claim that thy care about small brands. Please…

            • Rob
              December 3, 2016

Reminds me of earlier in the year when they reviewed the same Xiaomi phone twice as one had an extra 1gb ram, only to find the performance was the same! Could’ve told them that myself, that time would’ve been better spent reviewing a different phone. Sums this site up really unfortunately.

            • Airyl
              December 3, 2016

Not many companies are actually willing to send us review units, while the demand for review articles is pretty high. We went a week without a review once and the comments section was rife with “Gizchina doesn’t review phones anymore”.

On top of that, Xiaomi phones tend to sell well for online stores, so that’s the reason why we get offered those a lot. We also prefer to take them because the standard Xiaomi review gets a lot of views compared to, say, an Elephone review.

            • Rob
              December 4, 2016

My issue is everyday you put another article, I mean ad about the same Elephone phone as an excuse to list all the specs (yet) again and then you say they won’t send you review units! I wonder why, could it be because they are rubbish?

As for only putting these articles up because there’s not much happening in the world of Chinese phones, I’ve never heard such utter nonsense. Other sites find plenty of interesting phones and I often stumble across interesting devices that never even get mentioned anywhere. You may be aware of the saying “if you don’t have anything interesting to say, then don’t speak”. The same could be said for these Elephone/Umi/Blackview etc ads, if you have nothing new to add then don’t post! That would straight away stop 90% of these pointless posts, and they may actually send review units instead for free publicity.

PPTV did not want to send us a review unit of the King 7, and most stores were more interested in sending us different devices. On top of that, the only Redmi we’ve reviewed recently is the Redmi Note 4. I believe Zijin has a Redmi 4 and 4A in the pipeline, but aside from that there really aren’t any other Redmi reviews.

You might want to start buying phone to review then. Many reviewers do it and are building up fan bases that are even willing to donate to their Patron accounts to financially support them. And you in particular could go back to that series you were doing on defunct historic Chinese phone brands. Till the product gets better though, I’ll just stick to watching zi jin on YouTube.

Please when you see someone praises Elecrap then just look at their profile.. It is either:
1-Private and this one you should 100% no no 10000000000% be sure that he/she/it is a elepaidfan.
2-Not private, then just look at his/her/its comments and you will either:
A- He/she/it has comments about nothing but Elephone and Mgcool then you must be sure that he/she/it is a crappy paid shit.
B- They have comments about other companies, then ONLY THIS KIND of people you should argue.

      ———————————————————————————-

    • Airyl

    • lildwell
      December 3, 2016

80% of the stuff you post about elephone isn’t news though. Its foolishness. “Elephone now has an explosion proof membrane” isn’t news. “The elephone s7 comes with a silicon case” isn’t news.

The problem is that when a newcomer comes to this site and read your paid for comments and all of these crappy articles about elephone, they might be tricked into thinking they are a good company.

    • Airyl
      December 3, 2016

Yes, yes they are. These are just simple news articles made to hype up certain devices so that companies feel pressured into making their devices better. It makes the market more competitive.

When Bluboo sees “Elephone makes bezeless phone”, this prompts them to improve their design. When Ulefone sees “Oukitel ships with silicone case”, they’ll respond accordingly.

    • lildwell
      December 3, 2016

Because you are in the minority. The majority of elephones products have been terrible. I got a Ecoo E04 which was elephone under a different name. The thing was full of bugs and died after a few months. My anecdotal evidence has just nullified yours. If you did proper research, you would’ve come across the elephone forums were they blatantly ignore complaints. You would know about the phones that they promised to create only to turn into nothing. You would know about the pre orders that elephone never filled. It’s one thing to cover unknown phone brands but elephone is spammed to death.

    • MattD
      December 3, 2016

We don’t delete those because honestly, they’re pretty funny. They’re way too obvious for anyone to mistake them for actual comments. If it eventually gets out of hand, we’ll handle the issue, but as it stands it’s just hilarious to read them.

All of our sponsored content is tagged as sponsored and is then sorted into our sponsored archive, which you can find here.

      http://www.gizchina.com/category/sponsored-2/

    • Rob
      December 3, 2016

Trouble is everyone knows that Elephone are sh*t so if they buy these pieces of junk then more fool them, anyone with half a brain knows that every phone they make has crap software, awful cameras, general build quality issues and over all poor performance. Some of their new phones might look prettier but there’s only so much you can polish a turd, at the end of the day it’s still sh*t!

PPTV did not want to send us a review unit of the King 7, and most stores were more interested in sending us different devices. On top of that, the only Redmi we’ve reviewed recently is the Redmi Note 4. I believe Zijin has a Redmi 4 and 4A in the pipeline, but aside from that there really aren’t any other Redmi reviews.

    • lildwell

You might want to start buying phones to review then. Many reviewers do it and are building up fan bases that are even willing to donate to their Patron accounts to financially support them. And you in particular could go back to that series you were doing on defunct historic Chinese phone brands. Till the product gets better though, I’ll just stick to watching zi jin on YouTube.

I like your opening comment: “The jury is still out on if bigger is better…” I agree with this, I was excited about bigger phones a few years ago. Loved the 6 inch Huawei Ascend Mate 7. Also really liked the 5.7 inch Meizu Pro 5 – both too big I decided in the end. Now I think that large phones are a bit of a fad and only for a niche audience who need big phones for watching videos or playing certain games, who want a sort of mini tablet. There has been a trend this past year toward the release of quite a number of 5.2 inch phones, suggesting that at least part of the market, like me, now thinks that smaller phones are better for everyday use. I prefer 5 inch phones at the moment.

6 inch would be too big I think, 5-5.5″ is compact size.

I thought the same thing, then I saw and handled a 6-inch phone, and I can assure you that the difference is very small and the handling is not affected. Is a good idea to fans of the genre.

In my opinion, it is quite nice they have decided to go with a larger screen for this phone, i believe they haven’t had released any other 6 inches screen smartphones until now (i might be wrong, as i don’t really know all of their models), so it is something different for the new customers.

Elephone is releasing crap after crap after crap. I’m amazed how they’re still in business.

Well, this model is definitely a beautiful phone, but I reckon everyone have their attention on S8 now, as it’s more unique than Max

finally! a sleek, simple phone… elephone past models have had pretty unique features (like the back cover of s7 for instance), so I think this is perfect, because of its simplicity!
