Gizchina News of the week

The CPU architecture, which is similar to the older Amlogic S905, is a bit less performing on the GPU side, which doesn’t really matter for playing video but it does with games, which will undoubtedly run worse.

As mentioned earlier the new Rockchip RK3328 will also support USB 3.0, dual Ethernet of which one can be Gigabit compliant and tuner support.

We still aren’t aware of the price of the RK3328 or when it’ll be available, for that matter. Stay tuned to know more!

Mali 450 mp2 as gpu. Probably it’s called “rockchip” because its chips come from the stone age…

I know these socs are meant for tv boxes, but with such a shitty gpu as a mali 450 mp2 it won’t be good enough for any other use.

This is for the ultra-budget segment, expect to see 20-30$ TV boxes with it.
The fact that it will support 4K UHD H.264, 10-bit H.265 and VP9 video decoder is enough, since this is a separate chip.
Nobody really plays games on those things, Android games look horrid on a big-screen display.
I have the Amlogic 905 and it has a 6 or 8 core MP450, but I only watch movies on it.
