Oukitel U16 Max will offer thin metal body and 13 Mpix camera

Oukitel have announced last week that their first 6-inch device ever will be named Oukitel U16 Max and that they are already working on it. So what do we know about the phone so far ?

For starters we know that the 6-inch display will come from JDI production and will feature a HD resolution, phone’s body will be full metal one using aviation aluminum alloy crafted by complex CNC cutting and polishing, so the frame should look even narrower than it already is.

Gizchina News of the week

It’s not going to be a dual camera device so we have to settle for 13 Mpix rear camera with Micron AR1335 sensor and 5 Mpix front camera with OV GC5005 sensor. No software interpolation for either of them so a small plus for that. It’s worth noting that the camera lens doesn’t have the plain black paint, but micron-grade double axis lines printed using the latest LightScribe technology.

The fingerprint scanner will be on the back of the device and will have some customizable options including audio or video playback control, taking calls or launching a specified app directly.

What we don’t know yet is the pricing for the Oukitel U16 Max, but judging by the specs revealed it’s not going to break the bank. Presales should start in March so we shall see pretty soon.
