Gizchina News of the week

According to the same info, Xiaomi has high hopes for the current year and focuses on further improving its business via small and efficient restructuring procedures. Xiaomi plans to focus on 3 key points this year:

  • Innovation: the company plans to work on core technologies in order to provide breakthrough tech to its users
  • Quality: they will further improve the quality of their products
  • Delivery: this is not easy to deal with, since supply issues has been affecting the Chinese company for quite sometime now.

According to the latest rumors however things have improved and perhaps their goal for 70 million units sold by the end of the year could be met. In case you don’t remember, IDC reported that Xiaomi managed to ship only 41.5 million phones last year, a 36% reduction from 2015’s 64.8 million units.

Do you think they can meet their goal for 2017?

Supply constraints in India are affecting Xiaomi sales. Since Xiaomi can not supply enough of it’s products, the competitors like Lenovo are muscling in by reducing prices and providing viable alternatives. Case in point is 20% reduction in price of Lenovo P2 to take market share from Xiaomi.
