Chuwi LapBook 12.3 has an official price tag and a release date

Chuwi LapBook 12.3

The latest expected piece from Chuwi picked up a little bit of a delay, but at least the company is addressing the issue directly and not hiding in the bushes like many others. So with the official press release we finally have a price set and a release date for the brand new Chuwi LapBook 12.3.

Chuwi LapBook 12.3 is the smallest from the LapBooks and will be sporting a gorgeous 12,3-inch screen with 2736 x 1824 pixel resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. It will be powered by the Intel Celeron N3450 from the Apollo Lake platform supported by 6 GB DDR3 RAM and 64 GB of eMMC internal storage, but with a benefit of an optional M.2 slot for the way better SSD disk.

Gizchina News of the week

It’s not going to be the thinnest or slimmest one around with 16.7mm thickness and 1,44 kg of weight, but with all metal build it’s something we will gladly take. Battery looks also pretty alright with  36.38 Wh and the laptop will have two full sized USB ports (3.0 and 2.0), mini HDMI and probabaly non-AC dualband Wi-Fi. Supported systems will be Windows 10 and later on Ubuntu.

The release date got bumped from end of April to May, but Chuwi officials are swearing to uphold it so the wait is not going to be long. Retail price is set at the expected level of $349 and is more or less justifiable. Looking forward laying our hands on the sample piece when it’s released.
