Alleged HTC U12 renders show a very thin bezel-less phone

HTC’s U11 was a really good well-crafted phone with refined software. The handset released mid-year in 2017 also captured top spot on DxOMark for top camera performance. But, HTC’s flagships suffer from FoMo (fear of missing out and anxiety) routinely as does the HTC U11. Also, with the bezel-less trend heating up in late 2017, HTC missed out on it and it seems the company will make amends in early 2018.

Some new renders of the HTC U12 have surfaced on the rumoursphere. It’s quite obvious the leaked image paints a very unusual design uncharacteristic of HTC. HTC’s phones have never been the thinnest but with the leaked design, it’s being said that the HTC U12 will be 6 mm. Needless to say, we’re also looking at an 18:9 aspect ratio at the front of the phone. And if you’ve noticed, the HTC U12 will sport a front fingerprint sensor similar to the Honor V10. If you’re more worried about the headphone jack than the design, rest assured HTC is keeping it, for now.

Gizchina News of the week

We’re still wondering how strong the photography game of the HTC U12 will be since it will be employing dual camera both on the rear and front. If it managed to beat everyone last year, it can this year too.

As of now, we still remain sceptical of this design until something more concrete regarding the handset falls into our hands. These leaked images are from a case maker spotted on Amazon Japan. Hence we suggest readers not to be certain this design is the final deal.
The HTC U12 is believed to be coming up in late February in the run-up to MWC 2018.

    Sincerely doubt it’s the U12.

Looks nothing like HTC design for starters, it’s got a front fingerprint sensor which HTC has been doing it at the rear, and a headphone jack? nah. doubt it.
