Confirmed: Lenovo Z5 will be announced on June 5

Lenovo Z5

The Lenovo Z5 has been in the news headlines for quite some weeks now, and while there have been speculations it may land later in June, never has there been a confirmed unveiling date. Now, with just a few days before we bid goodbye to May, Chang Cheng, Lenovo VP and former ZUK CEO – the man behind the series of teasers we have seen about the Lenovo Z5, has today confirmed the Lenovo Z5 will arrive on June 5 in the Chinese capital Beijing at 2 PM.

Having said that, Chang-Cheng in a separate post earlier today confirmed the Lenovo Z5 will be a follow-up of the ZUK series that included the Z1, the Z2 Pro, the Z2 and the Edge. He, however, gave no further details of what we should expect of the Z5, but we already know through a couple of teasers from Cheng that the Lenovo Z5 will be a battery monster.

Cheng had on two separate teasers on Weibo teased the Z5 as one that will come packed with a massive battery capacity. Very recently, the company’s VP via a teaser hinted once again that the device will boast of up to get 30 minutes -1hr of talk time even if the battery is at zero percent charge. That will be incredible I guess, however, it remains to be known what battery size and how Lenovo aims to achieve these ambitious feats.

We also already know the device will come with a fully bezel-less display with no notch at the top or bottom to house all the sensors. It remains to be confirmed if the device will come with the in-screen fingerprint sensor, we still have more days to go, so we will look out for more update from Chang before the official launch date.
