OnePlus 6T had more people waiting on the line than the iPhone XS

OnePlus founder Pete Lau takes selfies with fans at the Times Square T-Mobile store.

It was like a dream come true, when earlier in the week the Chinse phone maker  – OnePlus officially forayed into the USA mobile phones market with the launch of the OnePlus 6T. Although the device was earlier scheduled to launch in the country on 30th October, it was however rescheduled for October 29 to avoid it clashing with Apple’s iPad event which held yesterday.

Now, it would all appear the change in date and of course, the company’s entry into the large market is beginning to pay off. And for those not in the know, T-mobile is the sole carrier of the OnePlus 6T in the states and had the device available for sale at its flagship store in Times Square, three days before it is meant to generally go on sale (Nov 1).

Gizchina News of the week

If the report making the round is anything to go by, then the OnePlus 6T may be shaping up to be a big hit for the 5-year-old Chinse company. Citing a T-Mobile employee, Business Insider reports that the T-Mobile’s flagship store in Times Square saw a larger crowd of people waiting to buy the OnePlus 6T than it did for the new iPhones

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” the employee said.

No exact sale figure was given, however, but it is worth noting that the figure may not be anywhere near that of the new iPhones, as the new Apple devices were offered for sale across several Apple stores dotted around the city, as well as nearly every carrier store. But still, it appears to be a good start in the US for OnePlus
