Xaiomi just unwrapped the Xiaomi Mi 9 -its premium flagship smartphone for the first half of 2019 (the Mi Mix 4 will arrive much later). The device, the Mi 9se, and the transparent edition are already turning heads as they tick virtually all the boxes.
There is a whole lot to like about the Mi 9 ranging from its Snapdragon 855 chipset, triple rear camera setup, in-display fingerprint sensor, and most importantly – the pocket-friendly prices of these devices. With these specs, Xiaomi which has a huge following in its home market will be hoping that its latest flagships hit the ground running in general sales, given that it carries a far lesser price than its peer that are due to arrive in the following days.
Xiaomi has only announced pricing for its home market where it will hit the shelves from February 26th, so if you are outside of China and you’re looking to pick up a unit of either the Mi 9, the special edition or the Mi 9 SE, you may have to tarry a while as the device won’t make it out of China until the end of February, probably.
Gizchina News of the week
The Xiaomi Mi 9 when it becomes available later this month will come in Lavender, blue or black color options all with the sparkling finish on the back. While this model will launch on the global level later this month in Barcelona, Xiaomi has also released a special model dubbed the Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition that will be exclusive to the Chinese market. Xiaomi is touting this variant as the world’s first 12GB RAM phone that has entered mass production. Other than that, it has a transparent back design, 7P lens, and f/ 1.47 large aperture main camera. You can learn more about the Mi 9 and the transparent edition here.
Lastly, comes the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE – the successor of last year’s Mi 8 SE. The device is a watered-down variant of the Mi 9, but still keeps some of the juicy features of its bigger sibling. Mi 9 price is excellent, Mi 9 SE price too high.
The problem isn’t the price. After all it’s got a very competent set of features. The real problem is the chipset that should have been a SD675 instead of the SD712, making the Redmi Note 7 Pro a much more rational choice for 90% of the buyers.
Damn i want the better camera from the transparent phone and the mi9 blue design.
100% worth it. $619 on ebay you can get the 8/256 Transparent version. This phone takes absolutely incredible photos. I love this phone! Also it is the GLOBAL rom as well.
I have a 8GB / 256GB Transparent Global ROM version. $630 shipped. BEST PHONE I’ve ever had. I’ve had a Note 9, iPHone 8 Plus, Mate 9 / 10 / 20X and this by far is the best out of all of them. Camera is crystal clear, screen is amazing, fingerprint is spot on. No complaints here.
