Japanese manufacturing giant, Sony, is a huge multinational conglomerate corporation that boasts of many successful businesses. However, its smartphone business is not comparably successful. Nevertheless, the company is still making smartphones and will release its latest flagship in a few days. According to reports, Sony was to announce its latest flagship, Xperia 1.1 (Xperia 2) at the MWC 2020 event. However, due to the recent Coronavirus treat, Sony pulled out of the event.
Despite pulling out of MWC 2020, Sony will still hold a new product launch conference. This event will hold 15:30 (Beijing time) on February 24th. TheĀ SonyĀ Xperia 1.1 will be the successor of Xperia 1 and it will come with the Snapdragon 865 SoC. From speculations, this device will also use aĀ 4K HDR OLED display and supports 5G network.

Sony Xperia 1.1 camera feels like Samsung Galaxy S20+
Recently, the full specifications of the Sony Xperia 1.1 camera hit the web. From the exposure information and picture display, the Xperia 1.1 supports a Penta-camera setup. The cameras include

- 64MP 1 / 1.7 inches
- 2MP ToF
- 12MP 1 / 3.4-inch ultra-wide-angle
- a periscope unit / OIS
The new Xperia 1.1 uses the same main camera as the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Currently, Sony IMX 555 is most likely the main sensor of the Galaxy S20 / S20 +. The detailed information about IMX555 is not clear, but it is said that the pixel size is 1.8Ī¼m and the number of pixels is 12MP.
In addition to retaining the 21: 9 cinema display, Xperia 1.1 will upgrade its imaging system to be similar with the Samsung Galaxy S20+.Ā In addition to this Snapdragon 865 flagship, Sony may also launch the Xperia 5 Plus (“Xperia 9”). You mean Sony is using its own sensor which is the Sony sensor that Samsung uses in it’s phone. Not that Sony is using a Samsung sensor.
