Vivo S7 official render surfaces through Chinese retailer

Vivo S7

Vivo is honoring its commitment to filling the market with many 5G smartphones in all price spectrums. Now, the company is gearing up to introduce a new 5G phone in the form of Vivo S7. The device will come as the thinnest smartphone to offer the fifth-generation network support. The phone surfaced yesterday at the Chinese retailers JD.com. Today, the listing was completed with the first official render of the phone. It fully reveals the phone’s camera design and a stunning color option.

Vivo S7 alleged specifications

Unfortunately, the render does not include the front side of the phone. According to the recent leaks, Vivo will introduce a dual-selfie camera hidden inside of a wide notch. That’s right, the company will stick with the 2017’s wide-notch solution. Not the best one, for sure, but pill-shaped notches are far from being the ideal solution for dual-camera setups. The panel will be an AMOLED one since the phone lacks a rear or side-mounted fingerprint scanner. We believe that the biometric authentication solution will be hidden underneath the display. Moreover, the Vivo S5 and S6 5G came with AMOLED displays. So, it’s safe to assume that the S7 will follow suit.

Gizchina News of the week

The Vivo S7 follows the new design language debuted with the Vivo X50 series. It features a rectangular camera housing on the top-left corner of its rear panel. The phone boasts a triple-camera array including a 64MP shooter as revealed by the wording on the left-hand side of the camera housing. Besides the right of its LED flash, we can also read “Hybrid Zoom”. This hints that the smartphone will be arriving with a telephoto lens. The other camera shooter probably is an ultra-wide lens. Previous reports were stating that this phone would be a super-thin device with a selfie-centric approach. However, we can clearly see a powerful camera setup.

Under the hood, the smartphone may boast the 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G. It brings both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. We expect this chipset to be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. Other specifications include support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi Networks, Bluetooth 5.0, and an USB-C port.

Worth noting that Vivo also has another phone with similar specifications circulating through the rumor mill. It’s the Vivo X60s, for now, it’s unclear if this handset will be revealed alongside the Vivo S7.
