Vivo V20 Pro passes by Geekbench with Snapdragon 765G and 8GB of RAM

Vivo V20 Pro

Back in the last year, Vivo promised to greatly expand its offer of 5G smartphones in the market. So far, the company has been honoring this commitment with a growing portfolio of fifth-gen-network capable devices in the most distinct price ranges. Now, a new member is coming through the Vivo V20 series. The Chinese maker is all set to introduce a new lineup of smartphones in the form of Vivo V20, V20 SE and Vivo V20 Pro. A couple of hours before the announcement, the Vivo V20 Pro decided to pay a visit to Geekbench database with Vivo 2018 and premium mid-range specifications.

The leaked benchmark listing reveals some “premium-mid-range” specs like the Snapdragon 765G and 8GB of RAM. This chipset so far has been the favorite choice of Android OEMs for bringing 5G to the mid-range segment. Unfortunately, not all devices coming with this SoC are affordable. We don’t think this will happen with the Vivo V20 Pro, since it’s the most high-end offering in the V20 series. In GeekBench 5.x, the handset score 638 points on single-core test and 1,958 points in the multi-core department.

Vivo V20 Pro alleged specifications

According to recent leaks, the Vivo V20 Pro will pack a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. Under the hood, we have the aforementioned chipset with up to 8GB of RAM. At this moment it’s unclear if we will have other variants. We expect this handset to be paired with 128GB of non-expandable storage. But Vivo can even put 256GB of Storage to make it more “Pro”.

Moving around to the back, the phone will bring a gradient finish and a Square-ish Triple Camera setup. It will comprise a 64MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP unit for macro shots. On the front, we’re looking to a dual-camera setup with a 44MP main and a 8MP ultra-wide module. This will fit inside of a pill-shaped punch hole. The phone draws power from a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. Last but not least, we have FunTouch OS 11 running on top of Android 10. Don’t let the “11” fool you.

According to official reports, the company will unveil the Vivo V20 series in the next few hours in Thailand. We will stay tuned for more details regarding the trio of smartphones.
