Vivo Y72 5G price in India has leaked online

Vivo Y72 5G

Vivo will launch a new Vivo Y-series smartphone in India very soon. The new device will come with Vivo Y72 5G moniker and will come to hit on the Mi 10i, Galaxy M42 5G, and other smartphones around the INR 20,000 pricing segment. The phone will draw its powers from a 5,000mAh battery. Today, additional details have been revealed by tipster Sudhanshu. Without further ado, let’s dive into the specifications of the new handset.

Vivo Y72 5G specifications

According to the leaked specifications, the handset will sport a 6.58-inch display with Full HD+ resolution. Vivo is calling this “Halo FullView Display”, but in the end, it’s just a fancy name for waterdrop notch display. The device has a dual-camera setup on the back. Nowadays, it’s not common to see dual-camera setups, but Vivo is going back to this route. We can’t blame the company, after all, having low-resolution macro or depth modules just for numbers isn’t very good. The problem is that the device only has a 48 MP primary camera and a 2 MP lens. The secondary module probably is for depth sensing or for “AI” prowess. The waterdrop notch serves as a home for the 8 MP camera.

Under the hood, the phone will draw its powers from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset. The handset will pack 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The handset will also join the list of Vivo’s smartphones offering virtual RAM, it will expand the RAM amount up to 4 GB. The device will run Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 straight out of the box which is hardly a surprise at this point. The new mid-range smartphone will offer a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Vivo Y72 5G

In terms of connectivity, we have 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port, etc. The phone will pack a 164.2 x 75.4 x 8.0 mm and weigh 185 grams. Unfortunately, there aren’t details regarding the availability outside of India.

The device comes to differ a little since it packs the Snapdragon 480 5G SoC. We’ve been seeing a multitude of smartphones with Dimensity 700 chips under the cost-effective segment and just a few with the Snapdragon 480 5G. In terms of other specifications, this is yet another of Vivo’s attempts to quickly expand its portfolio of 5G smartphones offering diversification in performance and camera aspects. The Vivo Y72 5G may not be a beast in photography like those in the V21 series, but offers decent performance, 5G, and a huge battery.
