Xiaomi’s gaming-focused brand, Black Shark launched the Black Shark 5 series in China last March. It’s a common timeline for the brand to launch new gaming in March every year. Therefore, we launch of the Black Shark 6 series seems to be drawing near. Although we did not hear any official word from the brand, the first leaks are here. The latest tips come as a courtesy from the tipster Digital Chat Station and reveal some of the specifications coming with the next-gen Black Shark series.
Black Shark 6 series alleged specs
According to the tipster, the Black Shark 6 series will pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Okay, that may sound obvious, but it’s good to see confirmation. As usual, gaming phones come to offer the best possible hardware, and Xiaomi is picking Qualcomm’s latest CPU for this task. Besides the new 4nm CPU, the phones will bring a flat 2K screen with a punch-hole cutout. The 2K display is an advancement for some. After all, gaming phones have been sticking with Full HD+ to preserve GPU power. Perhaps, this is no longer necessary.

The Black Shark 6 series will also bring a 64 MP main camera with Sony IMX686. This is not the most advanced camera on the market, but the camera is not exactly the focus of gaming phones. The devices will bring ultrawide, macro/telephoto shooters. The phone will also bring dual speakers and the “strongest active cooling” to ensure performance. Moreover, it will bring a ceramic body texture. Keeping the lights on, it will have a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support.
Right now, it’s unclear how many phones the Black Shark 6 lineup will bring. We can expect a vanilla and a Pro smartphone, but an “RS” model is not discarded. Also, the brand may introduce refreshes in the second half of the year, but it’s just speculation on my part. The new gaming phones will land in China first, and will likely get a global release later on. The devices will soon offer competition to the Nubia Red Magic 8 series.
