Earlier this month, Realme finally revealed the Realme GT Neo 5. The device is one of the best cost-effective flagships on the market. After all, it brings the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, capable cameras, and up to 240W fast charging. The phone launched in China, and apparently, it will launch on global markets as Realme GT3. The launch of the Realme GT3 will happen the next week during the MWC 2023, and we are not certain if there will be a Realme GT Neo5 for global markets. This is not discarded, as a new indication points to the launch of more variants. Apparently, there is a Realme GT Neo5 Lite coming soon.
Realme GT Neo 5 Lite is coming soon
According to reports from China, Realme is working on a new phone. It may come as Realme GT Neo 5 Lite or Realme GT Neo 5 SE. As the name clearly suggests, it will be a downgraded version of the regular device. That is an interesting development for the Neo series. After all, the Neo was mostly mid-range phones sitting under the flagship range. The Realme GT Neo 5 raises the bar by bringing the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which is still better than the majority of chipsets in the market. Also, it currently stands as the fastest-charging smartphone on the market. It’s way faster than premium flagships (I’m looking to you Samsung).
Gizchina News of the week
As per the tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone will bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2. That’s the second time we hear about this CPU this week. As per another leak, the POCO X5 GT is also coming with this very same CPU.
Alleged specs
Worth noting, that this is yet to be announced by Qualcomm. But we expect significant improvements over the uninspired Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Getting back to the point, the Realme GT Neo5 is also set to skip the 50 MP camera from Sony and the RGB notification light found on the regular Neo5. Obviously, the point is to make it more affordable.
The Realme GT Neo 5 will bring a 64 MP camera with an OmniVision OV64M sensor that is yet to be announced. The camera island will also get rid of the transparent window, and the phone should be basic. Since fast charging is one of the points with the GT Neo 5, the Lite will not disappoint. It won’t bring the 240W or the 150W charging found within the Neo 5 variants. Still, it will bring 100W fast charging, which is very good. It may be the slowest for GT Neo 5 phones, but still, it’s one of the fastest standards for the overall segment. The phone is also rumored to bring a 5,500 mAh battery, which is bigger than the others.
