According to the popular leaker, Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 2 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, making it the first foldable smartphone to be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chip. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has received praise from critics for its performance on high-end smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S23. The chip boasts greater power, better energy consumption control, and produces less heat than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
With the Vivo X Fold 2’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the brand will be ahead of the competition, beating out other major players in the market like Samsung, Oppo, Honor, and Huawei. While it’s likely that Samsung will eventually release a Galaxy Z Fold 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, it’s expected to come later than the Vivo X Fold 2.

It’s currently unknown if the Vivo X Fold 2 will be available outside of China. Vivo is a relatively unknown brand in global markets. And the Vivo X Fold 2 would only be the brand’s second foldable smartphone. However, the new model will a generate buzz in the market. And could help the brand gain more attention globally.
