Meizu is expected to make a comeback soon to the flagship market. Now under Geely’s command, the brand has refreshed resources and can try to conquer a good position in the smartphone scene. In 2023, the brand plans to launch the Meizu 20 series. The devices will come to compete in the market of premium phones, and of course, that means they will need proper power with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. A few weeks back, the company confirmed the use of the new chip. Moreover, it confirmed LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 standards, which have been the latest for the 2023 flagships. Now, a particular phone, believed to be the Meizu 20 Pro passed the AnTuTu benchmark.
Meizu 20 Pro specifications
The phone with model number M2391 may launch as Meizu 20 Pro. The device carried the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Internal Storage. That may be just a variant of many sets to come with the launch. Right now, it’s not possible to determine if this is the higher model of the lineup. We saw several leaks in the past months, different designs, and it’s hard to say how many phones are coming. A previous Geekbench test revealed the m2392 model. That one also had 12 GB of RAM as well as Android 13.
This alleged Meizu 20 Pro has a Full HD+ resolution with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display size is unclear, but it will be an OLED panel with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The phone will also bring 13 gaming-grade antennas. Meizu did not confirm the battery life but stated that it will maintain 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 daily charging cycles. The phone’s score was 1,255,418. Worth noting that the CPU and UX are below the usual for the SD8 Gen 2. But the launch of the phone is set for Spring, so it probably is running an unpolished build of the software.
The Meizu 20 Pro will also bring a Sony’s 1-inch IMX989 image sensor. Curiously, the brand is already accepting pre-orders. These pre-orders will run until March 14, and users will get 36 months of warranty. About 200,000 people have pre-booked the smartphone. It is expected with great anticipation. After all, as the first Meizu flagships under Geely’s control, they will say if the brand will be able to fight among the big ones, or will stay inside of a small niche of old loyal fans.
