Counter-Strike 2: Valve Prepares To Unleash The Beast!

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike is for sure the father of several competitive online FPS games. The game has been around for several years, and it’s impressive how it survived the multiple transformations in the game industry, and also the evolution of the internet. At least here in my country, it was common to visit Cyber Cafes and see players enjoying the game through local LAN servers. Of course, the game evolved with the internet to become a massively multiplayer online game. Since its launch in 2000, the game got a couple of updates and the most recent one revamped it to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Now, it seems that after nearly 23 years, Valve is ready for the next big update. It’s believed to come as the long-anticipated Counter-Strike 2.

Counter-Strike 2 seems to be coming soon

In the past weeks, we saw a couple of rumors emerging around a possible Counter-Strike 2. However, there is still no official info from Valve or Steam. Worth noting, that some leaksters have been pointing to the launch of the game. Some say that it’s a new version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Others say that it will launch as Counter-Strike 2. Regardless of the game’s name, we assume it will bring improvements to the formula established with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It probably won’t start from scratch, but will be a new upgrade for the existing game with all the appeal that a “Counter-Strike 2” name can bring.

Besides the leaks and rumors, it seems that Valve is actually moving on to prepare for the launch of Counter-Strike 2. Although no official info is available, the company has recently filed trademarks that hint at the launch of the new FPS game. The new trademark is directly involved with the project. Right now, Valve is waiting for an “examing attorney”. It will decide whether approve the trademark or not.

We will keep following the rumor mill to see whether there is a new Counter-Strike 2 coming soon. For more details about the game and related news, check out Mobigaming.com.
