OpenAI ChatGPT Login Nightmare – What’s Going On?

OpenAI ChatGPT

That day has come. AI is not reliable either. In particular, OpenAI’s chatbot called ChatGPT, which has been the talk of the town, has been unavailable. The site has been down for a few hours, and many users have complained about problems with it.

Looking at the site health monitor Down Detector, which has hundreds of reports from OpenAI ChatGPT and GPT-4 users, we can see that it’s not a specific server problem but a general problem. The problems started around 08:45 GMT, and many users worldwide were unable to use the service.

The headline on the OpenAI website reads “outage on chat.openai.com.” There is no official or rumored information about the reason for the outage. But of those who reported problems, 82% said they had problems with ChatGPT, 11% with login, and 7% with the website. Interestingly, there have been several other incidents in the last few days.

ChatGPT Is Live Again

At the time of writing, the service was back up. When asked by users about the problem, ChatGPT replied, “I don’t have access to information about ChatGPT’s specific technical problems or outages” and “I don’t have the ability to monitor the functioning of the system or its components”.

While many users informed about the issue, others expressed disappointment that they were paying $20 a month and not getting their money’s worth as a result of the outage.

Incidentally, OpenAI launched its AI-powered chatbot in late 2022. But the latest iteration of the product was released earlier this month. It’s been a huge success. One of the boosters is Microsoft, which has integrated it into various products, including Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Power Copilot. Of course, many other companies are integrating GPT-4 into various products and services. But Microsoft was the first to “smell” that it could make Microsoft great again, greater than it is now.
