In April last year, Vivo revealed its first foldable smartphone in the world. The device came in the form of Vivo X Fold, one of the first foldable to be considered an actual “2022” flagship. A few months later, the company introduced the Vivo X Fold S an incremental upgrade with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and an improved camera. One year later, it makes sense for the company to unleash the sequel of this flagship. As per many reports, the Vivo X Fold2 will come exactly one year after its predecessor. It will come this month alongside the Vivo X Flip and the Vivo Pad 2. A new report seems to confirm the exact launch date of Vivo’s new hardware.
According to a reliable tipster, the Vivo X Fold2 will launch on April 20. The device will come along with the Vivo X Flip. To those unaware, this is Vivo’s first foldable to sport a clamshell design. The X Fold2, on the other hand, will follow the form factor of its predecessor. But still, we expect some improvements in the design and hinge. As for the Vivo Pad 2, it also comes as a sequel to the company’s very first tablet. Just like Oppo, Vivo is now preparing a new tablet with compelling specifications.
Vivo X Fold2, Vivo X Flip, and Pad2 leaked details
Besides the launch date, we also got more details about the three devices. The Vivo X Fold2 will retain one of the largest displays among foldable. Its inner display is an 8.03-inch AMOLED panel with 2,160 x 1,916 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 120W wired charging and 50 wireless charging. Worth noting that this will be the first foldable smartphone with a 2023 flagship chipset.
Unlike the Vivo X Fold2, the Vivo X Flip will keep the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The clamshell phone will also bring a 4,400 mAh battery with 44W charging. Further, there is a 50 MP Sony IMX866 leading the show in the camera department.
Finally, the Vivo Pad2 will bring the Dimensity 9000+ SoC, a 144Hz LCD screen with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels of resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio. The device will also sport a metal unibody design. With the alleged launch date nearing, we expect Vivo to begin a teaser campaign very soon.
