Apple iPhone 15 series is just around the corner. The entire lineup is likely to come out in September of this year and will feature a lot of changes. And recently, we have been getting many details about the lineup. For example, just previously, a leak let us know that there would be a new color and better glass on all models.
That said, the most recent leak is building up on a previous leak we had about the camera setup of the high-end model. According to it, Apple is shooting to make the iPhone 15 Pro Max one of the best camera phones possible by offering a highly capable periscope lens.
iPhone 15 Pro Max to Feature 6X Optical Zoom Lens
As discussed earlier, this is not the first time we are hearing details about an enhanced optical zoom on the iPhone 15 lineup. The last leak regarding it also gave some exciting info on the zoom lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra). Even the trusty analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, talked about the phone’s camera setup last year.

Well, the new leak builds on that too. That is, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with a brand-new periscope lens. It is capable of offering 5x to 6x optical zoom. This tech will enable the phone to retain most of the image details even after zooming further in toward the subjects.

Yes, digital zoom does allow you to get a close-up shot of a subject easily. But the thing is, in most scenarios, you will lose a ton of details from the picture. Another important thing to note is that the 6x periscope lens might only be available for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The standard model and the Plus will likely come with a 3x optical zoom lens.
