Google Pixel Fold: Really expensive and bad news

Google is set to release a new foldable Pixel smartphone that is expected to attract new customers and potentially put established manufacturers like Samsung under pressure. The excitement surrounding the release of the Pixel Fold is high, with many eagerly awaiting its technical specifications. However, there are already some known weaknesses that Google should address.

Google Pixel Fold: High Cost and Disappointing News

Google Pixel Fold

One of the major concerns is the charging speed of the Pixel Fold. Despite the high price of the smartphone, it is expected to have a charging speed of only 23 watts via cable, which is on par with the lowest Android mid-range devices that cost less than $300. This is a significant disadvantage for a device that is expected to cost around $1,800.

While some may argue that real fast charging puts a lot of strain on the battery, there have been no major abnormalities reported in recent years in devices that have faster charging capabilities. Therefore, it is concerning that Google has not addressed this issue adequately, especially since Apple and Samsung are facing similar problems.

It is also worth noting that the battery of the Pixel Fold is not particularly large, with only 4,500 – 5,000 mAh to power two screens. This is another area where Google should have focused on improving the technical specifications of the device.

While the Pixel Fold has the potential to attract new customers, Google needs to address these known weaknesses if it wants to compete with established manufacturers like Samsung. Customers expect high-quality technical specifications for devices that are priced as high as the Pixel Fold. And Google cannot afford to neglect these areas.

The release of the Pixel Fold is highly anticipated, and it has the potential to shake up the smartphone market. However, Google needs to address the known weaknesses of the device, including its slow charging speed and relatively small battery capacity, if it wants to attract and retain customers.

Pixel Fold: Exciting Potential and Known Weaknesses

Pixel Folding Phone

Another area of concern for the Pixel Fold is its durability. Foldable smartphones are still relatively new, and there have been reports of issues with the hinges of some devices. Google must build the Pixel Fold to withstand the wear and tear of repeated folding and unfolding.

Additionally, uncertainty surrounds the software that the Pixel Fold will use. It is not yet clear whether Google will opt for a customized version of Android or a new operating system altogether. This could potentially cause compatibility issues with existing apps and require users who are using the Android operating system to learn a new system.

Overall, the Fold has the potential to be a game-changer in the smartphone market. However, Google needs to address the known weaknesses and ensure that the device is durable and user-friendly. Not addressing these issues could lead to disappointment among customers. And could also hurt the reputation of the Pixel brand. It remains to see how the Pixel Fold will perform in the marketplace. But it is clear that Google has a lot riding on the success of this device.

The author doesn’t know for sure the final specs (only knows rumors), says the battery will last 24-72h in a table which is respectable, then says in the title it is really bad news…that the charging speed is 23W. The Galaxy fold 4 charging speed is 25W. Moreover, the fold 4 has a 4400mAh battery. He says the pixel will have at least 4500mAh and up to 5000mAh but that that is too small (because 24 is not long enough???). Pixel phones have always used stock Android but he says because they could theoretically use a custom OS that that will fragment the market and bring incompatibilities! Folding support is built into the OS and what Samsung is using. Yes, it will be expensive because of the hinge and screens. The fold 4 costs $1,800 as well. So pretty much it will be similar to the fol4 in specs and price. Perhaps a bit better in specs and cheaper after a few months. It is GOOD NEWS that there will be competition. Even some Apple fans will end up switching to Android because of it.
