Steam Deck Still Reigns – Asus ROG Ally Tipped to Be 17-90% Expensive!

ASUS ROG Ally

The European pricing information of the much-awaited Asus ROG Ally has just surfaced online. And it brings bad news for those who were looking for a direct Steam Deck competitor. Yes, the handheld gaming device from Asus will definitely beat Valve’s charming device. But it seems ROG Ally will fail to rival it when it comes to price.

According to the tipped pricing information, the Asus ROG Ally will be 17 to 90% more expensive than the Steam Deck. And at launch, there will not be any cheaper Ryzen Z1 models available. That means Valve’s handheld gaming device will still continue to reign in the market.

Asus ROG Ally Is Just Another Expensive Steam Deck Alternative

WinFuture has gained some valuable information about the Asus ROG Ally. It comes from a retailer that claims that the Ryzen Z1 Extreme version of Asus ROG Ally will debut at €799 in Europe. It will be available for purchase from mid-June. And for your reference, the same device is expected to cost around $700 in the US, whereas Steam Deck starts at $474.99.

In addition to that, it seems like the cheaper version of ROG Ally will not be available at launch. There’s no official price information available for the cheaper model. So, that means the Asus ROG Ally will be €120 and €380 more expensive than the Steam Deck for the nearest launch.

Asus Rog Ally vs Steam Deck

That said, there’s a chance that the regular version of Asus ROG Ally could double down on Steam Deck. Previously, American retailers inadvertently unveiled that the Ryzen Z1 version would go for US $599. Although Valve’s offering would still be cheaper, you can not forget that ROG Ally is much more powerful. But we would definitely love to see Asus match with the Deck when it comes to pricing.
