First leaked photo shows the Elephone P8000 next to the P7000

elephone p8000 leak

Here’s another Elephone that can sit in the “looks promising” pile, the Elephone P8000.

Elephone’s upcoming line up is swelling with new phones and their latest look rather good. The Elephone P7000 is a stunner with alloy body and finger print scanner, and now the P8000 has appeared with it’s own distinct styling.

Whoever is styling Elephone devices these days needs a good pat on the back as they look great. In the image above we see the P7000 (left) next to the never before seen P8000.

Gizchina News of the week

If you cast your minds back a few years you might see some similarity between the Elephone P8000 and the UMi X2, only the P8000 has super narrow bezels which appear to be just 1mm wide.

So far very little is known about the P8000 other than the phone has a 5.5-inch display and will likely feature a 64bit Mediatek processor and possibly a fingerprint scanner.

With the P7000 expect to launch early April, the P8000 could see light of day around May.

Their latest P6000 isn’t even fixed, they lied about OTG, compass, camera, it still has touchscreen issues (although fixable) and they keep releasing new phones 🙂

Man… The Elephone P7000 showed a awesome stunning design, and now this P8000 is torture, hope they actually launch those phones, and they can be good.

Elephone’s phones look great on paper and the physical designs are attractive but their forums are full of people complaining about the hardware. From the G7’s camera not focusing and its APN setting and 3G not working problems to the long list of P6000 complaints. They should address those issues before pumping out new devices every other week.

I really like the design of the P8000, but I heard the devices of Elephone are not working very well…. a lot of problems with stability/OS. Can someone confirm, who is actually using a elephone?

I have commented elsewhere on this forum about just how bad the Elephone P8 (USB / speaker) hardware is. The speaker PCB board connection broke on both my P8’s. Sad situation for Elephone’s resellers and their customers as no one takes ownership and replaces or fixes the damn things. I hate the Elephone “user interface” – if I wanted android gingerbread again I’d buy a gingerbread phone. Their U/I sort of tries to be an APPLE look alike but only ends up giving you no end of duplicated APP screens. Only way to get rid of it is to load a “launcer” like Dodol / CLauncher etc. I would never buy another Elephone!

Hopefully Elephone can get some devs for their new phones, would be a shame if they keep on blindly kicking out phones without supporting them.

But honestly maybe it would be better for the company to just die. They frequently outright lie about features and never fix the software.
