The Samsung Galaxy A27's European price tag has surfaced, and it's not good news. The base 6GB+128GB model is expected at €349 — €50 more than the A26's €299 launch price. The 8GB+256GB variant jumps to €439, a €70 increase over the A26's €369. Memory chip inflation is the stated reason. The spec sheet, unfortunately, doesn't justify the increase on its own merits.

The Price Jump in Context
The Galaxy A26 was already seen as slightly overpriced for its specifications at launch. The A27 adds €50-€70 on top of that without a proportional hardware upgrade. Memory chip prices rising across the industry explain part of the increase — the same pressure has pushed up prices on Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Redmi devices this year. But explanation isn't justification for buyers comparing alternatives.
At €349, the A27 competes against phones like the Nothing Phone (3a) and Redmi Note 17 series in European markets, both of which offer more competitive specs at similar or lower price points.
The Chipset Switch Is Genuine Progress
Replacing the Exynos 1380 with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is the clearest upgrade. Qualcomm's chip delivers better sustained performance and meaningfully improved power efficiency compared to Samsung's in-house silicon — a change that Galaxy A buyers have been requesting for years. The shift away from Exynos in the A series, which started with the A36, continues here and is a legitimate reason to consider the A27 over its predecessor.
The 50MP main camera with OIS also carries over from the A26 as a genuine positive.
What Samsung Is Giving Away
Dropping from an 8MP ultra-wide to 5MP is a clear cost cut. Ultra-wide cameras determine how versatile a phone is for group shots, architecture, and environmental photography — the kind of everyday shooting the A series is bought for. Going backward on this sensor while raising the price is hard to defend.
MicroSD removal affects the buyer most likely to choose a 6GB+128GB phone — the one who can't afford the higher storage tier and needs expansion options. Removing it from that exact configuration is a particularly poor trade-off for a budget-focused buyer.
Promotional pricing and carrier deals at launch may soften the headline numbers. The raw European MSRPs as leaked are a difficult sell against the current competitive landscape.
