Xiaomi's Redmi Note is getting a rather confusing release in the Note 15 series iteration. The brand recently started its teaser campaign for the upcoming Redmi Note 15 5G, but ahead of a proper announcement, the device went on sale at Belgian carrier Telenet. The page comes with specs and prices, but since this isn't official, we need to digest some of them with a pinch of salt.

Redmi Note 15 5G Specifications and Features

According to the page, the Redmi Note 15 5G will be priced at approximately €280, with a special €30 discount available to subscribers. This is for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. Xiaomi has yet to set an official reveal date for the Redmi Note 15 series. However, it did confirm that the Redmi Note 15 5G will carry the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.

As per the listing, the Redmi Note 15 5G comes with a 6.77-inch OLED screen with 2,392 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. It boasts an in-display fingerprint scanner, although the exact model is unclear. It is worth noting that this size can be a placeholder, since the phone was expected to carry a 6.83-inch display size.
The listing confirms a 108 MP main camera, which is a change from the Chinese model with a 50 MP sensor. It keeps the 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP helper. The phone supports 4K video recording, and there is a 20 MP selfie camera in the punch-hole cutout. The phone has an IP65 rating, and the listing also includes the EU Energy Label, which is required for smartphone releases in the EU.

Smaller Battery, Faster Charging

The phone's dimensions are 164.0 x 75.4 x 7.35mm, and the weight is 178g. It includes a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast-charging support. Although the battery size is still good, this sounds like a small downgrade compared to the numbers recently seen in Redmi phones.

We are seeing 6,000mAh and even 7,000mAh phones becoming the norm. This is also a downgrade compared to the Chinese model that had a 5,800mAh battery, though it charges faster than its Chinese sibling (22.5W). This phone has a nano-SIM slot and an eSIM. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC.

Only the Black and Blue Options Will Be Available in Belgium's Telenet
It is worth noting that Xiaomi also plans to unveil a Redmi Note 15 4G variant. It will have a lower price of €200, but it has not been listed by Telenet yet. As for the 5G variant, the carrier lists it in Blue and Black color options.
We don't know when exactly Redmi plans to unveil this phone globally, but since Telenet went ahead, the launch shouldn't be too far.
