Resellers now reporting delievery of Elephone P7000 stock

It sounds as though the wait for the Elephone P7000 might finally be over now that resellers are reporting their first batches of Elephone P7000 are now arriving in stock.

This morning I woke up to messages from resellers and Elephone telling us that stock of the Elephone P7000 is arriving to stock over in China. This means that those presale phones should be shipping soon, regular sales can commence shortly and review phones will soon be in the hands of media.

Gizchina News of the week

I have confirmed that Elephone are sending us a sample and have been told to expect it to arrive in the next few days (so hopefully before the weekend).

Currently only white Elephone P7000 phones are in stock with gold and grey phones following shortly. The Elephone P7000 comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display, 3GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel Sony IMX214 main camera.

Keep your eyes on GizChina for the full hands on and review of the Elephone P7000 coming very soon.

Can’t wait till China smartphone makers include USA LTE support.

Gonna take two things for that to happen, strong sales in the US or phone companies having an official presence in the US. Until either of those happens none of these brands will commit the money to support LTE bands for US.

        Chicken or egg story….

Once you get into the $500+ mark, there is no excuse for not having wider LTE support. Not just for those who live in the US, but for those who travel.

Chinese phone manufacturers are getting better fast, but still have ways to go, in my experience so far.

The P7000 is no where close to the $500+ mark, in fact outside of a handful of phones none of these on here even come close to that mark.

A number of new Chinese flagships are in the $500+ range. LeTV Max, the new Nubia, the new Vivo, etc..

It really doesn’t take that much more effort to support worldwide bandwidth range and the cost is relatively negligible once you get over $300 or so.

Maybe that’s why so many wealthier Chinese I see carry an iPhone….

That’s 3 phones you mentioned out of the hundreds that were released this year in China. The majority are under the $350 mark.

Even so why would I company like LeTV or Vivo who have little to no sales in the US support US bands? 99% of their customers will never need or use those bands meaning the added cost of that radio and any costs associated with US regulations are a waste of money for the company.

Hey, you can find all sorts of justifications for any shortcomings.

I am not talking about the cheap phones flooding China and bought by curiosity or bargain seekers elsewhere.

The audience for the more expensive flagships is similar to the audience for the iPhone or the Galaxy. These users travel, or simply want to know that if they need the bandwidth, they will have it.

It’s a different market than the cheap glitter and if these Chinese companies are asking for prices comparable to those of the established brands, they should be including the expected features, including the LTE bands. And support, and updates, and the fit and finish.

In my limited experience, Chinese phones look great on paper, but in real world use come up short, compared to established brands. I’ve had never fixed random FCs, poorer camera quality than expected, inattention to detail….

This seems to be the year when things change for the better, but for the more expensive flagships, limited LTE bands are just another example of inattention to detail.

              Cheers.

The expensive phone brands offer the fit and finish and offer all the bands that their customers require. Almost all of them offer at a minimum bands 1 and 3 which are the two most widely used bands in the world. Funny you should mention the Galaxy, looking at a listing for a Galaxy in the US it offers the following bands: 13 and 4. Guess people in the US don’t do any traveling as those bands are useless in most countries. That argument didn’t work out the way you imagined did it? What was that about “fit and finish” and “inattention to detail”?

By saying “in my limited experience” it means you have little to no clue what you are talking about. In my vast experience with Chinese phones they are no different than any other country. Some are good, some are bad, some are excellent. I can point to phones from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the US which all fit into those same categories. If you want great camera quality on a Chinese phone check out the Vivo Xshot and Gionee E7, two of the best camera phones from any country last year.

Dude, I don’t know why you feel the need to chime in everywhere and argue silly points. I’ll humor you one last time:

The Galaxy provides world bands, as you can see at the link below (note the LTE bands and yes, I had one for a short while):

              Quad Band GSM; LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17; UMTS: Band I (2100), Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850)

              http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/samsung-galaxy-s-5.html

As to the Gionee E7 “best camera” claim of yours, I already looked at reviews after seeing one of your posts. Examples in the reviews don’t hold up to a “best camera” status, even against the S5, which had less than stellar dynamic range:

              http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/galaxy-s5-vs-gionee-elife-e7-samsungs-16mp-camera-pitted-against-cheaper-competition-222404.html

Most other reviews I saw say make similar about the Gionee E7’s camera, which is basically “OK for the price.” Nowhere near “best camera.”

I gather that you have the Gionee E7, so enjoy it for what it is, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that you have a top of the line phone.

I like to argue with people who make silly moronic claims on subjects they know very little about. I looked at the Verizon S6 and it only lists 13 and 4. Guess people with Verizon don’t travel much?

              http://www.verizonwireless.com/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-s6/#techspecs

“Most other reviews I saw” Here are several I saw that praised the camera. I did own it which would mean I would know more about it than you would. Most people here who have used it will tell you it has an amazing camera. People who know a lot more about Chinese phones than you think you do. But here are some reviews for you:

“The photos it takes are truly outstanding”:

              http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/reviews/gionee-elife-e7-review-505533

“Elife E7 was expected to take great pictures with good dynamic range, and boy, does it deliver.”

              http://www.fonearena.com/blog/100019/gionee-elife-e7-review-best-in-class.html

Guess you missed these two and the dozens of others just like it.

Oh, boy…. You are persistent in defending your “value” phone 🙂

Verizon uses CDMA and generally does not publish roaming bands for its phones, so it’s hard to say what they really are. But here is what Samsung says the S6 LTE bands are:

              4G FDD LTE
              B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B26(800)

              http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/android/SM-G920FZKABTU

Most flagships of established brands have similar coverage. Why would anyone settle for less than that, when the prices are roughly similar? Which was the point I was making and which somehow got your knickers in a twist….

As to the Elife E7 camera, I looked at the sample images, which are fine, for the price. But nowhere near “the best.” Ultimately, there is no free lunch: you get what you pay for.

If you are happy with your Elife E7, good on you!

IF you go to their website which I linked Verizon publishes all their bands including CDMA and Roaming. Their Roaming bands are 13 and 4. Again guess people with Verizon don’t travel much, because by your standards only people with expensive phones and lots of LTE bands travel.

I no longer have an E7, I have a Xiaomi Mi4. I haven’t had the E7 since it was first released and at that time it wasn’t a “value” phone, it was a flagship that cost over $400. When the E7 was released it was one of the best camera phones available. It was released in 2014, so of course newer phones have better cameras now. But back then there was very few phones with comparable cameras, the Vivo Xshot was one (which I noticed you completely ignored earlier).

When pigs fly. The reason we don’t see more China phones sold in the US is because many of these companies are notorious for using ‘liar specs’ in order to sell phones. (“SONY xx camera and 5800 mAh battery!”). While that may be popular in Asia, it’s illegal in the US and grounds for heavy fines from the FTC as well as expensive to be sued in class action law suites.

A review yes but it’s in French, not a bad review but it seems that the Wi-Fi and GPS performs poorly, fist fix on the GPS was about 4 minutes and subsequent fixes 40 or more seconds. The actual phone part (making and receiving calls) was not tested so no idea about signal quality

It is totally fraud by gearbest. Com. I got discount codes & booked p7000 from gearbest at discounted price. They confirmed. The payment was deducted immediately from my card through PayPal on. 12th may. I also received mssge from bank. But now gearbest. Has cancelled my order due to payment failed. But the payment has already been deducted from my card till today. It seems gearbest has misused me discount coupon code. There is fraud.
