Elephone P9000 Marshmallow Android 6 and side fingerprint scanner

Elephone P9000

Elephone have treated us to some new details of their upcoming Elephone P9000 flagship range, confirming Android 6 and a new location for their fingerprint scanner.

If you have been following Elephone news then you will already know that the company are working on a range of 3 flagship phones named the P9000 range. What is different about these next Elephones is that the company have confirmed a narrow bezel design on the entry-level phones, and a zero bezel design on the top of the range version.

Today Elephone have confirmed the hardware parameters for they top of the range edition P9000 as well as sharing more renders and physical details.

Elephone P9000 specifications include:

  • Mediatek Helio P10 CPU
  • 4GB RAM
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
  • 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display
  • Zero bezel design
  • 21 mega-pixel main camera
  • 8 mega-pixel front camera,
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • USB Type C

To reiterate these are the specifications for the P9000, Elephone will also launch the P9000c and P9000 Lite with slightly lower specifications.

Gizchina News of the week

elephone p9000

As for the P9000 design, well Elephone have provided renders that show the bezel free phone and a side mounted fingerprint sensor. The finger print scanner is on the right side of the phone beneath the power button, while a mystery red button is located in the left (possibly a camera shutter button).

It is interesting to see that the Elephone P9000 lacks a volume rocker posing the possibility of side touch control similar to the latest ZTE Nubia phones. The design also shows the location of dual speakers in the base, SIM tray and rather thick overall design.

We are waiting on the final launch date, and also if Android 6 will come on the phone out of the box or if it will be available as an OTA update.

Yeah… I’m starting to believe elephone should stop produce smartphones and start to make renders only… They’re damn good at it! 😀

“Bezeless” since when did big black bars are not counted as bezels? Seriously that joke has to end. Also no sources released no buy from me (come ooon you did the right thing w P8000, do it again, relying to Elephone for software updates sounds like a special form of torture).

Wrong SoC …moving along..Seriously when is MediaTek planning on releasing the long overdue Helio x20?

    • E8hffff
      October 8, 2015

Yeah the Helio P10 is the MT6755 which is pretty much a rehash of the MT6752 bringing it in the region of the Helio X10. The x20 being the ultimate from Mediatek. The X20 is scheduled for this season, lasts months of 2015.

Nice looking phone. Maybe the side red button is the home button and Elephone’s shift to reduce clutter, similar to the Apple’s philosophy, other words Zen. Example the Elephone will have a single home captive button that has multi touch methods.

I can’t see why Android versions are sales points, as it’s not that difficult to bring a phone up to date when you have the files to compile.

I am pretty sure the phone will not look like that when it is launched, i just hope they make the black bezels a little bit thin and why can’t chinese manufacturers put the fingerprint sensor in between the menu and back buttons it wouldn’t hurt really…….tis the reason i almost cried when i found out the Lenovo P1 had SD615 i would have ignored all its other faults but not that.

It is good that they stuck to the FHD instead of going full retard 2K on the top model. Regarding the bezels I agree that it will not look like on the renders. But neither do Samsungs. I just hope that they make the Bezels on the side as this as possible (considering cost)

I also hope that the batters is above 3500mAh because otherwise it is another good intention with no juice behind it.

I dispute that fact, bot Note 5 and Edge+ are almost completely bezeless. There is only the frame of the phone that goes around, especially edge+ seems to have a screen that literally touches the back of the phone.

Edge+ is less wide than most 5.5 inchers even as they have small bezels already. It’s crazy how small it seems (in width) despite the big screen

      2560×1440 isn’t 2K…

Yeah the 2K claim isn’t locked down. 2.5K columns vs 1.4K rows, or 3.5MP. People expect 3K screens to have 2K rows and proportional to suit well widescreen ratos.
