Ulefone Be Pro 2, an updated Be Pro with new chipset

ulefone be touch 2

Cast your mind back to the start of this year and you may remember the original Ulefone Be Pro. Well the phone is making a comeback and will get a new chipset and Android 5.1.

It’s common for Chinese phone makers to recycle their older models with a refreshed set of specifications and this is exactly what we are seeing with the new Ulefone Be Pro 2.

Gizchina News of the week

The original Be Pro launched with a 5.5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, Android 4.4 Kitkat and MT6732 chipset at the start of this year, the new update will see the same design and build but an updated chipset and Android 5.1 loaded as standard.

At this time we don’t know which chipset Ulefone plan to use, but we guess it will be the Mediatek MT6735, a quad-core processor with 64bit architecture. We also don’t know what the price will be, but Ulefone say that they are aiming for a RRP of less than the Be Pro’s original $169.99 cost.

I bought Be Pro to my mother. The phone works very well and she is happy with it. There are two thinks I don’t like about it though: 1) Power button doesn’t work anymore 2) Impossible to purchase tempered glass for it (I’m a big fan of tempered glass).

I heard about the power button. Mine is okay. I think Ulefone has posted, maybe on their facebook page, how to fix that.

My Be Pro is now 8 months old and running 5.0. No issues with it. I wouldn’t upgrade to the new one because my next phone has to get 4G in the U.S. I imagine it will be a decent phone

You are lucky. More users have problems with power button. They put on their facebook how to fix volume buttons, so I guess Ulefone has in general problem with buttons.

My mother is using doubletap to wake, so she actually hasn’t even realized until I told her it doesn’t work :). I have no idea how she turns on the phone when it turns off. I should ask…

Yes. I heard this was a widespread problem. No fun when it’s your mother.

Ulefone should learn from Xiaomi’s factory tests 🙂

Sounds way to expensive, for a MT6735 phone.
169.99$ is a higher level than Redmi Note 2.
