The SJCAM M20 action camera has an unorthodox form factor

SJCAM are popularly known as the GoPro of China. In fact, you’ll find the SJ4000, which happens to be one of the most popular GoPro alternatives (I was tempted to use the term ‘knock off’ here), at many places being referred to as ‘NoPro’!

Coming to the subject of this post, the SJCAM M20. SJCAM have been fairly active with a tonne action camera releases in 2015. The brand starts 2016 with the M20, which is an action camera with a rather odd shape.

1454088865085787142The company claims the M20 is its smallest action camera to date. As for the specifications, the M20 has a 16 mega-pixel Sony IMX206 sensor, a 900mAh battery and WiFi. The M20 shoots video at up to 2304 x 1296p, and has a 1.5-inch LCD screen.

Interface includes micro HDMI and micro USB ports.

As is the case with all other SJCAM action cameras, you get a tonne of mounts and accessories with the M20 as well. The gadget is currently on pre-sale for $148.

And why exactly does the SJ4000 get named ‘NoPro’??? I have an SJ4000 WiFi and it’s an amazing camera! I’ve used it doing some outdoor activites, Motocross and I use it quite often on my XK X380 Quadcopter…

It’s as ‘pro’ as a GoPro is for loads cheaper!!!

Perhaps because ‘NoPro’ sound like GoPro but isnt one 😉

And nice, even I use an SJ4000 with my X8C and CX-20… it’s a hard one to fault.

Hey Yash, I see that I just thought it sounds a little like it has ‘No Pro features’ when it clearly does… lol

Whats the X8C like compared to the CX-20? I went for the x380 because it was dubbed as being a better alternative to the CX-20 on the forums… I can’t fault it so far anyway…

The X8C is like a no-frills quad for when you don’t want to worry too much about GPS lock and stuff. Isn’t nearly as powerful as the CX-20 payload and feature wise, but fun nonetheless. From what I’ve read of the X380 it’s quite a decent quad too, an upgrade over a WLtoys (I think?).
