Ulefone Vienna sold 120.000 pieces during the presale

Ulefone has just announced at their official blog, that their audio-centric Ulefone Vienna phone managed to sell 120.000 pieces during the April presale period.

vienna_120000-1Orders will be expedited starting tomorrow,  so April 15th,  first of course the oldest ones. Ulefone claims that majority of the orders came from their three biggest markets –  Russia, USA and Spain. With the end of the presale period price should be going up to 199.99$, but it’s rather likely to stay at the 169.99$ presale level.

Gizchina News of the week

Vienna attracts the buyers mainly with the NXP Smart Audio PA chipset, MT6753 processor, 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM, 32 GB storage, 5.5-inch FHD Sharp display and 13 Mpix Panasonic camera.

I couldn’t care less about any of this kind of phones and most likely any of you either unless as a backup phone of some sort…

I do give it to ulephone as an audio centric, sort of, phone they went for a market that is forgotten if you have no big pockets. Cheers to them…

But You all know you are here waiting for something like the Apollo to finally become available or some other company to offer a similar device, an ALL AROUND WINNER… Not even Sammy as it died in the audio department for its new S7 (at least at the loud speaker level it did).

I’m pissed off at Meizu for not making the hype about 6gbRam a reality … Some how, I might forgive them if the thing proves itself a good over all deal and the battery does not becomes a liability. Hehehehe.

So no, I don’t care about slower simpler tech I’m just looking for a worthy replacement for my Elife E8 and Gionee is taking its sweet time to bring up the Elife E9 . (even if none of you care)

That E9 should be (aiming at perfect again just changing what SHOULD be changed, nothing more):

    1. Screen at 5.7″
    2. Battery at 4500mah+
    3. Back-lit buttons
    4. Customizable notification rgb led
    5. Bigger-than-finger*reader CIRCLE for back Camera design (WOULD LOOK BETTER IMHO)
    6. MTK X25/X30 and 4gb-6gb RAM ???
    7. FULL single led Flash for front camera
    8. Not heavier than 210grms.
    9. Besides the OS, don’t change anything previously OK with it, that would be a perfect device IMHO.

The E8 was launched around June last year. I would expect the E9 around July this year.

As for the specs of the E9 I would say you are pretty much spot on. I think Gionee will focus on the form factor of the E8, keeping the large display size but making it thinner and lighter.

    115,000 were from Ulefone themselves.

Yeah isn’t this the company that keeps saying they sold this amount and that amount in an attempt to be reminiscent of Apple’s debut into phones.

I believe the real amount is 120.000, as in 120

surprised to see the USA being on the top of the order list since Ulefone does not have band support turned on for US carriers. The MT6753 Worldmode chipset supports the USA bands but they are disabled. i have the Ulefone Power.and it is an awesome phone but only gets 2g service on AT&T. hoping Band 17 can be enabled in Android 6.0

lol not even 3g only 2g??

      • April 17, 2016

Unfortunately only 2g. I know that there are other phones with the MT6753 that have support for Band 17. I believe that it can be added via the ROM. Hoping Ulefone does something about it with Android 6

This phone is really ugly, it’s a surprise for me that it sold this number so far… But Ulefone is a serious company, not like the other Chinese crap…

Also, they need to finally start making more phones with backlight buttons (buttons with no light = Fail).
