Video demonstrates Yi 4K’s image stabilisation (vs GoPro Hero 4)

yi 4k action camera

Xiaomi’s new and updated Yi camera just went official a few hours back, with features such as 4K video recording, large battery, among others.

This time around, Xiaomi have made a conscious effort to create a higher-end camera that’s not just cost-effective, but compelling w.r.t. its spec sheet as well. So, how does it fare against GoPro, the brand synonymous with action cameras?

Yi technology, the factory behind the Yi camera, seem to have put together a video depicting exactly that. Mind you, it isn’t a comprehensive overview or anything like that; just a short video showing how the Yi 2 is superior to the GoPro Hero 4. You’ll be reminded about the Yi 2’s EIS (electronic image stabilisation) and the larger (than Hero 4) battery that it comes with.

Xiaomi Yi vs GoPro Hero 4

At a starting price of $200, the Yi 2 isn’t the most affordable action camera on sale in the Chinese market. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how it fares in real world scenarios.
