Elephone M3 and Elephone P9000 Lite are getting a firmware update

Two of the numerous Elephone devices, specifically the M3 and P9000 Lite models are getting a new VibeUI firmware update developed in cooperation with some external Elephone team. So let’s take a look at what new features the firmware brings to the table.

Elephone M3 gets three brand new features, first being the “Quick snap” allowing the user to quickly capture the screenshot on the powered-off screen. All you have to do is double press the volume control button. Another one is the “Wide touch” for customization of size and opacity of the touch functional button. Last one is the “Quick flashlight” and it’s probably pretty self explanatory.

Gizchina News of the week

New stuff is being added to the Elephone P9000 Lite too, it’s also getting the “Quick snap”, but as more usable looks like the “Micro screen” feature, which allows the user to shrink the screen for easier one handed controls. And the last piece of the puzzle is the “Flip to sleep” function for putting the phone to sleep just be flipping it screen down.

All the new features and summed up and explained in the following video so check it out.

Depend on your budget. But you won’t do wrong unless you go for Redmi Note 3 with X10 and Mi4i.
ANYTHING else is great. I tried a lot of Xiaomi. Mi3 Mi4 and MiNote Pro and RedMi Note and Note 2 ‘without fingerprint” and Mi Max and Redmi Note 3.
Trust me all will do well except the RedMi Note 3 and Mi4i.

Wow! I liked the “Quick snap” feature. And that flip lock too 😀 Is it only for this 2 models? Or the upcoming S7 will also have this?

Forget about this UI, work on stock ROM and make a new update. When will you start working on Nougat?? That is already available for developers. Please give update and obviously provide a bug free update.

When a company adds new features with an update, it is only to be commended, but we are sure that users did not require other improvements?

A colleague who has the M3 model told me that he can’t find the update. But it is an update prediction that has yet to go out or is already published?

Your colleague should check which rom he’s running, because this update is for vibe ui rom only… I suppose he’s on the srock rom, so he won’t find this update anyway

Dear losers (fake commenters), This is not considered as a firmware update. This is just a porting of a 3rd party rom. Any rookie dev can simply do this by copying some other phones (that shares the same hardware) system folders and merging it with elephones. I can guarantee you things like fingerprint scanner or some other stuff won’t be working. Rather than this, try actually fixing the bugs in your own stock firmwares which you’re not capable of, obviously. haha.

No other phone companies would consider this (porting) as worthy news but elephone.

I can’t believe Gizchina is reporting this as news tho. It’s just a porting of a 3rd party rom. My Mi5 and my older OP2 has 3rd party roms being ported almost on a bi monthly basis or less and no news from Gizchina on that.
