Although there are a number of ‘official Apple resellers’ here in China (Coodoo springs to mind) there are only 2 official Apple owned and ran retail stores. One in Beijing and this newly opened store in the Pu dong district of Shanghai. Compared to other Apple stores around the world and Shanghai varied architecture the 40 foot glass cylinder which houses the entrance to the Apple boutique looks rather underwhelming. Shoppers enter through the glass cylinder located near the famous ‘Pearl of the Orient’ and glide down glass steps to the subterranean store. Just be sure you hold the stair rail correctly or it might drop a signal or even you.
