It is looking increasingly likely that
Apple are planning a third assault on the
tablet market with the companies third rendition of the
iPad.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed if the next
iPad will be a slightly updated
iPad 2S or a totally reinvented
iPad 3, rumors suggest that
Apple are currently stockpiling up to 2 million of the
new tablets for
launch.
What we do know is that the
new iPads, which are currently known internally as code names ‘J1’ and ‘J2’ will feature newer sizes, specifications and technologies including higher resolution screens.
It is interesting that
Apple are considering newer sizes and could be the reason for the lack of iPod Touch
update (other than a white model being offered) at the ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ keynote event.
A smaller iPad, possibly measuring 8.9 inches would also help
Apple fend off Amazons current
Kindle Fire and rumored larger 2nd generation
Kindle Fire tablet which is thought to be under development.
So, how long do we have to wait for an
iPad refresh, well according to
Appleinsider we could possibly see the next version of the iPad, or possibly larger iPod, before the end of the year with another
Apple tablet update coming either March of September 2012!
