E-commerce sites offering ‘rent-a-boyfriend’ from $2 in China

Chinese E-commerce sites such as the ever popular Taobao, offer almost everything the home shopper could ever possibly want to purchase, but now and again a few surprises turn up.

Single (or married we suppose) women in China looking for a little companionship can now head on to Taobao.com and rent a boyfriend from as little as 10 Yuan and hour ($2).

Prices tend to vary depending on what type of ‘service’ the lady is looking for, for example 10 Yuan will rent a boyfriend who will accompany you to a meal for an hour, the price then doubles to 20 Yuan for an hour of shopping, while renting a boyfriend for a whole day can cost from 100 Yuan ($15) plus.

The men offering their companionship are not all out to make money however, one 28 year old  in Foshan, Guangdong for example is asking for 500 Yuan ($79) for a day of dating, but if the lady is looking for love and marriage he will throw in a discount!
