THL's
quad-core, 5-inch flagship phone has been sometime coming, but officials from the company say the wait is almost over and plan to
launch the
THL W8 Youth at the start of May.
The announcement that
THL have decided to
launch a Youth version of the quad-core
THL W8 is both a blessing and a worry. On one hand it means that more customers will now be able to afford the high-end
THL phone, but on the other it suggests
THL are also have
problems getting the phone to accept
2GB RAM!
Like the UMi X2 and premium versions of the
Neo N003 and JiaYu G4, the
THL W8 was meant to
launch with a quad-core
MT6589 CPU and
2GB RAM, however the
news that a Youth model will also go on sale and know announcement of the Premium versions
launch suggests they
THL have ran in to issues!
The
THL W8 Youth should go on sale ahead of the Chinese May holiday (the start of the month) and will feature a 5-inch 720p
display, quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 8 mega-pixel camera and
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Pricing is yet to be announced but we expect it will be higher tan similar phones, possibly around 1499 Yuan ($241).
