Another late night of Sina Weibo posts from
Xiaomi Co-founder Liwan Jiang has confirmed the
launch date for the Xiaomi
Mi3 (
Tegra 4) and the Xiaomi
TV.
Liwan Jiang has confirmed that the
first lot of
Nvidia Tegra 4 Mi3 phones be available through the online Xiaomi store from 15th October. This version of the phone is specifically for China Mobile's TD-SCDMA mobile network, in other words 3G on this version of the MI3 will only work in China, those of us on China Unicom or wanting to use the
Mi3 abroad will have to wait for the
launch of the Snapdragon 800 version of the phone.
So how long do we have to wait for the Qualcomm version of the Mi3? We still don't know, but we do know that Xiaomi are waiting for Qualcomm to begin shipping the
updated version of the S800 (Snapdragon 8974AB) which they have promised to use in the flagship phone rather than the current S0C (Snapdragon 8974) which rivals such as Samsung are using.
Back to the 15th October date, Chinese Xiaomi customers will also be able to buy the 2999 Yuan Xiaomi
TV on this day. The Xiaomi
TV features a 3D display, super narrow bezels and is powered by a Snapdragon 600
processor.
