Samsung working on new camera sensor to offer better low light performance


Samsung’s next generation camera sensor will offer 8 x brightness in low light conditions than current versions.

Samsung’s new 13 mega-pixel smartphone sensor will go in to mass production from early 2014. What makes this new sensor different from current 13 mega-pixel units is that the Korean company promise it will capture 8 x more light in low-light environment that current phone sensors.

In addition the sensor also offers a built-in anti-shake function that can correct errors of up to 1.5 degrees (better than most compact cameras), will measure the same as current Samsung sensors and will consume less power.
