Coki’s colourful Xiaomi Hongmi killer spotted during testing

Even after years of reporting on Chinese tech I am always amazed when a brand appears I have never heard of before. Coki is one such brand but they have big plans to unleash a Xiaomi Hongmi killer!

Gizchina News of the week

This colourful Android phone was recently photographed while being tested by China’s Tennaa mobile association for network license approval. As the license hasn’t been published yet we do not know if this will be another TD-SCDMA mobile or a much-needed WCDMA compatible handset. What we do know though is the phone will feature a 4.5-inch display, quad-core MT6589T processor, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 8 mega-pixel rear and cost just 799 Yuan ($130).

Well, which is better, the MT6589T or the new Snapdragon 800 in benchmark test?

Snapdragon 800 is the most powerful chip you can get in the market. Mediatek MT6589t just barely catch up to Samsung Exynos 4 Quad on Samsung Galaxy S3, last year soc.

And still, I know what I’m buying, lol. Waiting for another Xiaomi Killer.

S800, it isn’t really fair to compare.

Are you referencing the S800 because it’s in the Mi3?

This article is comparing it to the Xiaomi Hongmi, Xiaomi’s cheaper model phone, which has the same MT6589T processor as the phone above.
