Budget Huawei P6, aka G6 turns up for Ministry approval in China


Huawei have just received network approval for another low-cost smartphone this time based on the design of the wafer thin Huawei Ascend P6.

The Huawei Ascend G6 has shown up in leaked documents from China’s Ministry of Industry where the phone has received it’s network license. On the surface the Ascend G6 appears to be nearly identical to the ultra-thin Ascend P6 but there are a few notable differences between the two models.

Firstly the Huawei Ascend G6 will be aimed at more price conscious buyers and will actually ship with a similar specification to the Huawei Honor 3C, including 1GB RAM and quad-core 1.3Ghz MT6582 processor.

The display on the G6 will be a lower resolution 960 x 540 unit and cameras witll be 5 mega-pixel front, 8 mega-pixel rear. The final differences are that G6 will measure slightly thicker at 7.5mm and will cost significantly less than the premium P6 model.
